the tele with the three sets of outputs and control panels was a real thing back in ''the day'' called a ''payola'' mod, it was more for three different recordings not tones, you made more money off more tracks recorded and in the early analog days of recording three lines out means three paydays., hence the nickname ''payola mod'' and it was more common than you think.

The vibrato on the 12 string is not a Floyd Rose, it's a Don Ramsay Linear Tremolo, and it is perfect for this case because instead of pivoting it slides, so the 12 strings stay the same distance from the fretboard and pickups. It's less of a dive-bomb vibrato and more like a bigsby with elegant control. The guitar is made by Michael Spalt, a world-class guitar maker and I'm sure it plays great. So, sorry Samurai you're wrong about this one.

Tying on strings as frets is actually a thing. That was how it was done for lutes and early guitars, and is still done for many lutes. It has some advantages, such as you can reposition the frets to adjust the tuning to be more in tune than the usual equal temperament for the key the piece is in. Classical guitarist and lutist Brandon Acker has some recent videos on his channel where plays around with tied string frets on a modern classical guitar. Here's the first: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpqudIKIg5Jpo5o

But I am thinking that that "whammy bar" might apply enough leverage to the bridge to deform it enough to get some kind of vibrato effect out of it. If you got too carried away you might just snap the bridge right out of the thing! lol

@@xanataph That was my reaction as well. Similar to getting vibrato by pulling on the neck of the guitar, but probably more risky.
@CristiNeagu2 жыл бұрын
If we're talking about the guitar at 6:26, those aren't nylon strings. Look at the ball ends. They're probably some variety of D'Addario electric strings. And the trem on it should work. If you get a bit of vibrato from waving the neck about, the wiggling the bridge should be even better. Not sure how long the glue is going to hold, though.

Not sure on the level of cursed it is, but my main guitar is a Monster Energy Stratocaster - a Squier HSS Bullet Strat with a huge vinyl decal on the front, featuring the big claw-y M. Its origin is apparently a Circle-K giveaway in Canada, where they gave out 11 of them in 2013-2014; I found mine in a pawn shop in Oregon. It's pretty good for what it is. Monster have branded a number of other guitars over the years - I've seen a standard Strat, an Epiphone LP, and a bunch from Schecter - but you'll still occasionally see some DIY monstrosity like the acoustic that's been spray-painted matte black and had stickers slathered over it.

I have a guitar that hopefully is going to be* a cursed guitar. It's some kind of old Ibanez (I am pretty sure) that I found on a bonfire pile at a Scout Camp. Obviously, the pile hadn't been set ablaze at this point. There is no hardware, but there is a body and a neck. However, someone has put crosses in the inlays and the head stock is broken off and missing. The idea is to just put some kind of metal plate at the end of the neck that the strings can fasten to & then do some kind of Steinberger type bridge on it or possibly do that BC Rich Bitch style thing where there are tuners on the body end after the bridge. I do have an old Kahler trem bridge that might have enough play in the fine tuning to allow them to be used as the actual tuners, so could use that. *It doesn't count as a cursed gat at present as there is not enough of it to be classed as a guitar. lol

The worst part of the whammy classical guitar is the presence of magnetic pickups. Also helps to always use the same strings and you can learn how much your strings stretch over the time on the guitar and get pretty close with pre prepping the tension. Compared to a string through it is more difficult but not so much that it’s not worth it.
