More specifically, the "someone" is Jo Young-nam (or Cho Young-nam... Korean romanisation consistency...), the guy that looks dead in the Delilah video :D He kind of specialised in doing Korean covers of songs popular in the West, back in the day. Also, note that this happened in 2015, so MMM were still rookies. This was the first time they brought backup dancers, per their words to help them express the anger in the song. Also, a warning: lots of reactors cut the clip short. It does not end when people think it would end.

Oh, Immortal Songs was a competition series where groups/ soloists cover classic songs. Mamamoo appeared on it a lot in the early days of their career.

Their arrangements are always fantastic. I assume they're done collaboratively between the group, their boss Kim Dohoon and maybe others in their creative team like former RBW songwriter/producer Park Woosang, but I don't recall hearing them talk about it. They've done a lot of rearrangements and remixes of their original songs for award shows and concerts over the years along with the new arrangements for the 14 cover songs they covered on Immortal Songs 2 (15 with Solar's solo appearance). Btw, you didn't mention it but the live band that accompanied them did a terrific job. They always use a live band for their concerts in Korea. I think the best alternative to an Immortal Songs level performance is I Miss You on Queendom, which is safe for reactions. You saw a snippet of it in the Killing Voice medley. However it's from their 2016 full length album Melting so if you're going to continue in chrono order you've got the rest of Hello and two more EPs before you get to it. Hope you're having fun in Amsterdam.

They are AMAZING!! And definitely came to burn the house down every time they came on this show. These are not their own songs. The challenge was to pick another singer's music and do your own rendition of it. It starts with Korean trot singer Bae Ho's song "Backwood's Mountain" He was known as the "Elvis of Korean Trot". Their set continues with Love Story of a Girl, The Way to Sampo, You in my Fading Memory, Wonderful Confession & Flying into the Night Sky. Tho it may seem silly to say it, they DID win with 404 points overall. If you ever see the looks on the other idol competitors faces in other episodes when Mamamoo are on stage, you will see the absolute awe they are held in by other performers. All of those lightsticks you see in the audience are the very enthusiastic "moomoos" (official fans) in the audience. Their official lightstick can be picked out for it's radish shape. These fans have completely taken over entire studio theaters and not let them close down,.. wanting to keep Mamamoo performers on stage all night (there is footage of it). The absolute chaos created by this group when they get out of control has destroyed TV tapings, sets, studio walls,... radio broadcasts,... They are known for their wild chaotic sides. It's hilarious,.. but wild and out of control. There's just no one like them. They are huge stars around the world and their fans are among the most dedicated to them.

This was for their 2017 concert, named ‘Mamamoo Concert Moosical: Curtain Call’ they picked their version of the songs(not theirs) sang during the show(Immortal Songs), performing an Eleven-Minute long Medley in the MIDDLE of a Four-Hour long concert. And Solar was NOT happy with the last Belt... Because she had to stop moving to complete it. Crazy Woman, I love her. LoL

My nominee for best pop vocal performance ever. These aren't their songs, though they are their arrangements. Immortal Songs is a competition show where the participants cover songs by a famous Korean artist. Mamamoo was the first Idol group to win. The audience is older so they tended to look down on idols. They appeared 14 times and won 3. Most of the songs did not have rap parts originally so Moonbyul's parts are original with them.

I got goosebump every single time I watch this performance. They covered and rearranged a lot of classic Korean songs in that TV program ‘Immortal Song’. The best one is “Delilah”. An old song by Tom Jones but in Korean version. Amazing performance!

They do a lot that are references to their performances on the TV show. (As the guide said... the Immortal songs performances are definitively worth a watch... or 30 :-P ) Dances are often typical to or inspired by the dances that were popular when the song originally came out. This is also a number they did 2 hours in into a a concert that was around 4 hours long.

Observing the growing Kpop industry since the 2nd generation I've seen and heard so many good groups and solo artists that produced top hits. They all deserve to become more popular internationally. But among all of these Mamamoo as the one and only vocal queens and Dreamcatcher are outstanding artists who are on another level than all the rest. Both coming from small production companies they had to struggle so hard to overcome hardships and find their way to success. But true talent has finally come out on top. Let's support them internationally, they deserve it !

This is a contest, they did win and these are all covers, except the originals do not have rap lines, so moonbyul had to write all the lyrics she did into the songs(not a challenge she is the most credited female lyricist in korea today). They have a habit of delivering performance during contests or appearances in shows where it looks like a mamamoo concert there happens to be other performers at. There is one more song to this contest, Tom Jone's deliliah, it is incredible, they do some in english some on korean and the vocal talent they put on for just this song is unbelievable. No idea why it is a separate video. They have appeared in the contest multiple times. They are the first rookie group, first girl group and the first group to win 3 times. @@K-RossReacts I just got to see them live a couple weeks ago, I was second row center. I thought I was going to be a mess but it was too exciting to even think. Got to see the girls after the show as well, locked eyes with Hwasa and time just stood still. There is something surreal about her, it’s even more intense up close and in person. These ladies are genuine angels, so interactive and sweet. It belies their superstar stage presence and ridiculous talent. There is nothing out there like them, they hooked me about 6 years ago and I have been down the rabbit hole since. Welcome to the fold.

I only know one of the songs. It's definitely not one of theirs. The Way to Sampo is from a 1970's Korean movie called The Road to Sampo. It was a pretty big movie for it's time. My understanding is the songs are from a Korean show called Immortal Songs. Where they have legendary guest vocalist. And competitor's perform their reinterpretation of the guests top songs.
