Abstract painting on a large canvas with a DIY painting utensil, an ordinary household broom! I show the entire painting process of a large scale abstract very colorful painting. The title of this image is "Fireworks". I painted on a canvas that had not yet been stretched on a stretcher frame. It will then be shipped rolled up.
Title: "Fireworks"
Size: 165cm x 112cm (65" x 44")

My name is Kirsten Handelmann, I am a freelance artist and qualified graphic designer from Hanover in Germany. My great passion is abstract painting.
In my videos I would like to give you insights into my work processes, i.e. applying layers of paint, assessing them and painting over them again. I would also like to introduce you to some of my finished works and also show you small scenes from my daily artistic work, such as preparing a work for shipping when it has been sold.
But what I also want to document is that not everything always leads to satisfactory results straight away. It can be a long process with many detours until the work is finished for me, and sometimes it is better to put the painting away for now.
I usually work on several works at the same time, which I repeatedly bring out and re-evaluate. Often, with a little distance, I can immediately see what they need.
I only use acrylic paints and very consciously use the interplay of the different transparencies.

I bought all the materials myself, but I still mark my videos with the word “advertising” in some places because I can’t always prevent products or product names from appearing in the video.
If you like my work, I would be very happy if you would subscribe to my channel, like, share and comment on my videos. Thanks so much!
Now I wish you much joy
