I have been searched for an hour to get a clear explanation about Carnot theorem and finally i got this ❤ . Why youtube didn't suggest me this as first? If it happened i would save 50 mins of my life 😢

but there is no violation of Kelvin-plank statement since the statement says it is impossible to construct an engine operating in a thermodynamic cycle which does nothing except to absorb heat from a single reservoir and convert it to equivalent work

that point about the reversible which reversed totally confused me in the class but now completely understood. when reversible is reversed that like finding heat pump and refrigerator.

@wei_wei67413 жыл бұрын
Since subtracting bigger value (W1) from Q1 will leave smaller value than subtracting smaller value (W2) from Q1. Hence Q3>Q2. (I think you got confused, we are not adding but subtracting values from Q1)

I understand how this proves that an irreversible engine can't be more efficient than a reversible one. How can you prove that they can't be equal, then?

Bro you did a mistake ie efficiency of reversibility engine is greater than the irreversibly engine .but you are did a mistake .its not {n irr> n rev}
@ABStudyCircle6 жыл бұрын
Bro we know that n rev > n irr but to prove Carnot theorem we assume the opposite

Work done by the system is negative w1 and work done on the system is positive w2 , then w2 - w1 then why did you put w1- w2

Why Carnot engine has highest efficiency ??
@ABStudyCircle6 жыл бұрын
Because it operates on Carnot cycle which is a reversible cycle
@sunetradhere4 жыл бұрын
Because Carnot engine operates on Carnot cycle. It's reversible engine which is ideal and thus hypothetical.
