although I am a Jew my Jewish mother took me to the local Baptist church that had managed to convert her to Christianity because she came from a secular Jewish family. I never fully accepted their teachings because their very own Bible disproved what was believed by the Christians. Eventually in my late fifties I made a very in depth study and found that Christianity was not based ed on fact. Over the last 15 years I have slowly found my way to Judaism helped by the Chabad movement. I am now finally at peace knowing I had found both my spiritual roots and the truth. I would advise you if you are a Jew to follow Judaism if not find a Noahide congregation and join them. I would not recommend converting to Judaism if you are not Jewish but keeping close ties to a Jewish community may be possible.

Another point 👇 Some apologists assert that Luke traces the lineage through Mary. That this is untrue is obvious from the context since Luke and Matthew both clearly state that Joseph was Jesus' father.) MT 1:16 Jacob was Joseph's father. LK 3:23 Heli was Joseph's father.
@garanceadrosehn969111 ай бұрын
The full verse in Matthew is: _"And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ"._ So Jacob is definitely the father of Joseph (according to this narrative). However, does "of whom was born" refer to Joseph, or to Mary? The claim is that Joseph was not the biological father (so there is no "begot" in the above), but clearly a child is born by the mother of that child. ... Some people say this indicates that Matthew is giving the genealogy of Mary and Luke is giving the genealogy of Joseph. Others point out that the genealogies work much better (for Jesus) if Matthew is giving the genealogy of *Joseph,* and that the phrase "of whom was born" is merely adding the comment "We're talking about the Joseph who eventually married Mary".

The author of Mathew hints to what the Jews at the time thought of his lineage. They must’ve thought him to be a bastard . His mother was betrothed to Joseph but before consummating their marriage she had an affair. Now Mathew tries selling the immaculate conception to the Jews. But hints to those that don’t want to buy into this, that messiahs lineage comes from questionable unions. For this reason he highlights all the problematic mothers in the Davidic line. Let’s see; Mathew 1; Verse 3. “Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar “= see Genesis 38 Verse 5. “Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab “-Rahab the harlot see Joshua 2 , ( this one completely made up to add to the problematic mothers) Verse 5. “Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth” =Ruth the Moabite see book of Ruth. Considering the prohibition of intermarriage between Israel and Moab (Deuteronomy 23:4) Mathew considers her a problematic mother . Verse 6; “David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife” = Bathsheba . Mathew doesn’t just state her name ,rather highlights why she’s a problematic mother. See 2 Samuel 11. So Mathew is trying to sell Jesus to the doubtful thomas’s . He says to them even if you don’t believe she was banged up by g d (heaven forbid)but messiah must come from a questionable union. In the same vein Mathew wants us to believe that the Nazarene was born in Beth Lechem which is in Judea ( even misleading the audience with a verse in Micha)although he was a Galilean. For there was a difference in custom between the Judeans and the Galileans regarding a betrothed. In Judea it was the custom for the couple to seclude themselves even before the consummation of the marriage, and he cannot make a claim about his bride’s virginity after marriage. Not so in the Galilee where the custom was to not let bride and groom to seclude. (See Ketubot 9b). Therefore another excuse for Mary for being with child before consummation of their marriage. So Mathew wants you to believe in the Nazarene because 1) immaculate conception, don’t buy it ? 2) they were in Judea at the time and maybe Joseph in his passion for her didn’t wait for the wedding date. , if you don’t buy it 3)it’s okay she’s just another problematic mother. Just atrocious what Mathew does , a mockery of the Torah, and questioning the intelligence of ordinary Jews who read right through him.

I'll note that the genealogies that we have in written form were attributed to Matthew and Luke. Luke was a physician, so it's pretty reasonable to assume he knew how to read and write. Matthew is assumed to be the tax collector guy, and if so then he'd also able to read and write. The other thing is that the two genealogies are very obviously different. Let's say that maybe all twelve disciples were illiterate. But in two thousand years of Christianity, there were certainly *some* Christians who were very literate and could read well enough to notice the difference between the two genealogies. One might want to check to see what those Christians thought about the differences. I expect that one could build reasonable arguments against whatever reasons those christians came up with, but wouldn't it be worthwhile to at least consider what reasons have been offered? I think that would be a more interesting discussion than focusing on how John and Peter were not literate (at least not in the year that Jesus died), given that no one has even claimed that either genealogy was written by either John or Peter. And yeah, I don't get the "14 generations, 14 generations, 14 generations" either. And what's even more sad (about *me,* personally) is that I know I've heard people offer explanations about that, and yet I don't remember what the explanations were.

@@janishart5128 When you said: "NO FURTHER SCRIPTURES were given to mankind by God AFTER Mr. Sinai", you are denying your own tanak and showing your sheer ignorance. @@janishart5128 Talmud regarding BOTH (Triumphant/Suffering Messiah): It is very interesting that most will act as if this is a "Christian theology" when it is absolutely in the Talmud and the Zohar based off their own readings of the TANACH (which I have by the way, thanks for the suggestion) that the Messiah could come and die for the community (Suffering Messiah Ben Yoseph and then later Triumphant Messiah Ben David). The only difference is they believe it would be 2 separate Messiah’s, we believe He will do both. Yet, I hear this often how supposedly the Christians (Paul, etc.) are purely going from the NT and do not have the backing of Jewish Bible. Scripture's clearly speak of how the Messiah will come, and wars cease, etc. However, there are also prophesies in the Tanach about His suffering, even those in the Talmud knew this. No one could endure the sufferings meted out to Israel in expiation on account of their neglect of the Torah. So scripture says: “Surely our diseases he did bear.” As long as Israel were in the Holy Land by means of the Temple service and sacrifices that averted all evil diseases and afflictions from the world. Now it is the Mashiach who is the means of averting them from mankind until the time when a man quits this world and receives his punishment… “ 24 This is speaking of Isaiah 53:5-8 and disagrees that it is speaking of Israel, and not the Messiah. One explained, The cause is the slaying of the Messiah the son of Joseph, and the other explained, The cause is the slaying of the Evil Inclination. It is well according to him who explains that the cause is the slaying of Messiah the son of Joseph, since that well agrees with the Scriptural verse, And they shall look upon me because they have thrust him through, and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for his only son: but according to him who explains the cause to be the slaying of the Evil Inclination, is this (it may be objected) an occasion for rejoicing? Why then should they weep? - (The explanation is) as R. Talmud above also shows they believed the Messiah could very well die for the sins of the people. Yes, not all agreed, however, it proves that even the Jews knew it was a real possibility that the Messiah would have to die for the sins of His people. Talmud: “R. Joshua opposed two verses: it is written, ‘And behold, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven; whilst elsewhere it is written, ‘behold, thy King cometh unto thee lowly and riding upon an ass!” ’16 After much discussion on these seeming contradictory passages, the Rabbis concluded:” If they (Israel) are meritorious, he will come with the clouds of heaven; if not, lowly and riding upon as ass”17 Which “lowly and riding upon a donkey (ass)” is exactly what Yeshua did. As far as the Messiah having to die for the sins of the people, some quote ezekiel 18:20-21, as to say that it proves this can not be, "The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him (18:20). But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live." Again, the Talmud and the Zohar disagree with you... Here is some interesting commentary from a Jewish man…Sorry, I couldn't figure out his name, anyway, the Zohar is referenced. “Isaiah 57:1 The righteous one perishes, and no man takes it to heart; men of kindness are gathered in with no one understanding that because of the impending evil the RIGHTEOUS ONE was gathered in. (Tanach) Zohar states (III 118b): "If the sins multiply in the world, then ALL the righteous suffer in order to cure (bring to repentance) the generation. But when THEY are not so much, then ONE RIGHTEOUS PERSON suffers and the rest are left in peace because the world does not need their sufferings. If the people are cured (they repent) then the righteous are cured. There are times that righteous men suffer their whole lives to protect the generation. When the sins get very great, the righteous die, and that causes them to be cured, and they are forgiven"” Continuing, “In Rabbinic literature the reason why the righteous suffer even when they have not sinned is so that those who see their suffering should repent of their sins. Isaiah 57 explains this. It is similar to the reason why a sacrifice is brought for an unintentional sin. He should look at the innocent animal and say that I should be that sacrifice and repent of his sins.” This is clearly stated in the Zohar (III 57b): "All those who are pained by the suffering of the righteous their sins are removed from the world... all those that are pained from those righteous who have died, or who sheds tears for them, G-d proclaims over him, 'Your sins are removed, your iniquities removed.' Not just that, but his children will not die in his days as it says, 'He will see seed, and lengthen his days.' (Is 53:10)" The suffering is to effect repentance and hence atonement of sin. If God were to have body and form, He would be limited and defined, because it is impossible for there to be a body which has no limitation. Everything that has limitation and definition, by virtue of its body, also has a limited and bounded power. Since God's ability and power have no limitation or boundary, His power is not the power of a body. And since He does not have a body or any form, He cannot be affected by any circumstances that can affect a body, as for example the effects of being separate from another entity. Thus it is impossible for Him to be anything other than one.

Abraham had two sons….which are 2 covenants. Ishmael the natural born son is the covenant of the law and they were sent into the desert. Just as Moses went with the children of Israel into the desert to receive the 1st covenant of Ishmael the law. The other supernatural born son covenant is based on faith. As it says in genesis 15 Abram believed God and it was counted as righteousness. This is the covenant God wanted to happen but Abraham got impatient and planted his seed in the bond woman instead of the free woman. Therefore God had to bring forth the slave covenant of the law/ishmael covenant which was meant for the ishmaelites but the children of Israel adopted this covenant as we see they went with Moses into the desert and were given the law…to be of the law is to be of slave to it just as Ishmael and his mother were sent into the desert. We can tell when the Ishmael covenant would be over when a child of a supernatural birth happened like Isaac which was Jesus. Now is the time for salvation through faith in Jesus as God originally intended. Right now the law/ishmael is on pause that the Isaac covenant could come forth right now,. Once Jesus collects all those who put faith in Jesus at the end of the 2000 years then he will reinstate the Ismael/law covenant and combine it with Isaac/faith covenant. The law part will be only for holiness as the blood of bulls and goats can’t take away sin it only covers it. The Issac covenant is the faith in Jesus covenant that removes sin. The Isaac covenant which will be faith in Jesus for salvation will also be in effect during the millennium because God will combine the Old Testament covenant/the law and the New Testament covenant /Faith in Jesus to make one united covenant We see the temple and the levitic priesthood on earth therefore it has to be combining the old covenant of the law and the new Issac covenant of faith . If you need faith for salvation Jesus can’t be on earth or the faith factor is gone….Being it is a levitic priesthood David can’t be high priest….see how the 2nd anointed has to be the high priest because in levitic priesthood you have to have a high priest separate from the kingship or you cancel the levitic priesthood and make it melchelzedek order therefore flawing the law as Jesus said not one jot or one tille will change until heaven and earth pass away

Lamentations 2:1 "How the LORD in His anger has covered the daughter of Zion with the cloud of His anger, He cast the glory of Israel from heaven to earth, He has abandoned His footstool in His day of anger"...More testimony...Isaiah 53:6 reads "We all, like sheep have gone astray, each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid the iniquity of us all on him."..."we all" and "us all" would include Israel, correct?...Then how could Israel be the "righteous" Suffering Servant?...Please explain, how do you reconcile the scriptural text with your claim...And excising other scriptural text with poor exegesis fully out of context is dishonest...Your theory is also predicated on and falsely presumes there cannot be two distinct servants in the book of Isaiah...Please respond.
@booksquid85611 ай бұрын
Think. Lamentations is an entirely different book. Neither author was cross referencing each other's text to decide who meant what. Not only that, but it is silly to think that because a nation goes astray that there are not still people a part of that nation who are righteous and suffer. Don't you as an individual sometimes suffer from the negative intentions of others, while being totally innocent of their accusations? Your entire Christian Bible is used for a different purpose and so horribly out of context. You pick an author and verse here or there--and without any understanding of Jewish national history or its leaders or its various forks of government or its constitutional principles or its historic debates or its language or its idioms--somehow you think you can prove your foreign religion is legitimized by the texts. It's like using the Federalist papers to prove your great aunt's cookie recipe was truly divine.

Please explain to me from Isaiah 53:6 [see below] how do you reconcile Israel being the 'Suffering Servant' with this scriptural passage from OUR Hebrew Bible...Please respond to my questions in the brackets...First the scriptural verse [All caps for emphasis]... "ALL we like sheep have gone astray; we have ALL turned to our own way. And the LORD has laid on HIM the iniquity of US ALL" Point #1 "ALL we like sheep have gone astray" [Would ALL not include the people of Israel?] Point #2 "We have ALL turned to our own way" [Again would not all include Israel?] Point #3 "And the LORD has laid on HIM the iniquity of US ALL" [HIM is a singular masculine pronoun and US ALL references a collective people, so please explain, who is HIM? and again, does not 'US ALL' include Israel? Could Israel be both HIM and US ALL?...Logic would dictate no, correct?] My position is that Jesus is the suffering Servant Next...Please read the below passage from Isaiah 42:6, who is the LORD referencing? Isaiah 42:6 "I the LORD have called you to demonstrate my righteousnes. I will take you by the hand and guard you and give you to my people Israel, as a symbol of my covenant with them and you will be a light to guide the nations" Point #1 'Give YOU to my people Israel' ...Means it can't be Israel, correct? Point #2 Jesus was the Messiah to be 'a light to the Nations'...This is a foreshadow of Jesus in Isaih 53 Please note, I am a firm supporter of the Jewish people and Israel and I know as the scripture teaches in Revelation, Jesus will come back to Jerusalem and save Israel I implore you to turn to Him!!...Amen.

@9:38 Samael’s / Devil’s Advocate: What about the ~180 AD ultra-orthodox, Protoevangelium of James account? Hypothetically, where issues of Davidic Patriarchy arise, couldn’t EZRA 10:3 prevail? Here genealogy would go to Mary from Judah, who imparted Davidic-biology onto Christ via breast-milk >> re: Mary’s own birth was natural blood (Davidic) from Anna, who waited her purity days before nursing or touching Mary, logistically a bat Elohim) … fast fwd >>> Mary gives birth to Jesus (a ben Elohim in a bloodless birth, no birth-canal passing, etc.) in a stone cave via a Gen 1:2-3 water-light revelation process. Per the Midwife, the infant’s first earthly act was to nurse (Davidic*) Milk from his mother’s breast in a hyper-‘taharah’ state of Levitical purity (re: the time manipulation attested by Joseph, etc.) Could EZRA 10:3 be considered in this case? What the jewish people don't realize is Jesus was bringing forth a new covenant with new instructions as it states in hebrews 7:12 where the priesthood is changed the law is also changed. Jesus' claim wasn't to be high priest of the levitic priesthood....Jesus is High Priest of the melchelzedek priesthood, therefore new covenant and new priesthood means, change in instructions and what is permissible......one example being that Jesus' cant die for the sins of others according to the levtic priesthood law.....but under the melchelzedek preisthood law those laws don't apply as Jesus came to bring people under the melchelzedek priesthood kingdom, not the levtic priesthood kingdom To live under the levtic priesthood means "to live under the curse"...to live under the melchelzedek priesthood kingdom means "to live under the blessing". The goal is to live under the blessing. The people during the millennium will still be living under the curse because the levtic priesthood will be in effect on earth and sin will still be present. Once the millennium is over then a new heaven and new earth will be created, sin done away with and all will be of the melchelzedek priesthood.

God is calling you back but wants you to share him with the world. Once that’s understood, the earthly father who adopted Him at the request of the most high God also has his lineage documented in Luke 3. Matthew 1 has Mary’s lineage, now both are documented and both go back to David. BOTH parents are descendants. Also, both parents are of the tribe of Judah. Joseph is in the line of David it still works just fine 😑 The two become one flesh even when they are only espoused before they came together and Joseph was meant to be his (symbolic) earth father for a reason. Mary was already his espoused so technically he still is from the line of David ..he just can’t be literally from a man’s seed because we carry that curse Adam left us all with.

Yeshua Bar Yosef Ossuary 80/503 "Yeshua bar Yosef” - “Jesus, Son of Joseph” It is the plainest of the ten ossuaries found in the tomb, a modest coffin, perhaps made in haste. Alarmingly, there is a large cross mark right next to the name “Jesus.” A cross, deliberately carved. The archaeologists, however, immediately and ever since, dismissed this as a mason’s mark. Besides, they say, Christians didn’t use crosses until the time of Constantine in the 4th century. This “Jesus, Son of Joseph” ossuary couldn’t belong to that Jesus, son of Joseph. Back in 1926, another “Jesus, son of Joseph” ossuary was discovered languishing in the basement of what is now the Rockefeller Museum-by none other that Eleazer Sukenik, the archaeologist famous for his 1948 discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Hebrew University professor did not publicize his astonishing find until 1931 at a conference in Berlin. The news made headlines around the world. And then the world forgot all about it. Today, that same ossuary is on display at the Israel Museum. It is in no way connected with Jesus of Nazareth but instead is on display to send a message: don’t get excited if you find archaeological mention of any “Jesus.” The name is common.

According to Christianity, jesus was not the biological offspring of Joseph, and thus, has no tribal affiliation to King David. Where's inheritance of genealogy through adoption? Genesis 15 2And Abram said, "O Lord God, what will You give me, since I am going childless, and the steward of my household is Eliezer of Damascus?" 3And Abram said, "Behold, You have given me no children, 👉and behold, one of my household will inherit me."👈 4👉And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, "This one will not inherit you👈, 👉but the one who will spring from your innards-he will inherit you."👈 Did Jesus spring from the innards of Joseph! NOPE!

@@D18.21 , yes, and there is no evidence that Jesus was even adopted! Adoption is a legal arrangement requiring evidence. There isn't any of that for Jesus.

*Romans 3:7* For if the truth of God has increased through my *LIE* to His glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

Jesus Christ Is coming very very very soon. Revelation 22:12-14 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

@user-mn9bh6kb7c Your Pagan Greco-Roman/Christian carnal idol of flesh Jesus is but a composite of a myriad of Pagan Greco-Roman Idols, PERSEUS the Virtuos Virgin born demigod, DIONYSUS the Water into Wine Miracle Maker and MITHRAS the Dying/Resurrecting idol who dies for the People, who raises the dead and heals the lame and the sick, whose Devotees Eat of the flesh and drink of the blood. Like his sidekick the Pagan Greco-Roman/Christian Devil with his lake of fire, they are but fabricated characters of Heathen Man, found only in the Greek Tall Tales of Heathen/NT and Joe Smith Jr's Book of Mormon, NOT the 24 Books of the Bible, the Torah/Tanakh.
