Those Boca Bearings are better than the ones that will come in that $100.00 reel. Nothing wrong with buying, and adding upgrade's later.

Great video. One question. On the Silver Max and the Black max, when the spool tention knob is set property, there is seems like alot of pressure on the spool. Does the bearing replacment cut that out?

Richard Gullotto the knob is doing its job. its adding tension to the spool against the breaks to avoid backlash. OR the bearings are dirty and need cleaning.

Will you do a video for the black max spinning reel bearing upgrade as the 2000 real we get with the reel rod combo has 3+1 ball bearings and not so smooth.

All I had to do was put lighter fluid on my bearings and spend the bearings couple of times and then put oil on them they cast the same as the bearings you have in yours

Bearing upgrade is useless because you'll need to adjust the tension knob and brakes anyway.

How would that make it useless? Different weights would change the adjustments… the bearings would increase the spool speed, but that’s probably already too complicated for you.

@@davidcarrillo6318 Let me explain so a five year old can understand. There's no point upgrading the bearings so that the spool spins like a top for 5 minutes. When you put line on the reel and fish with it you'll need to adjust the tension knob and magnet brakes anyways. If you don't understand that then i can't say it any clearer.

@@davidcarrillo6318 Hey Dummy. I've been fishing for 30 yrs. I recently attended a BassProShop event and Kevin VanDam demonstrated how to set up and property set a baitcaster. He signed my StrikeKing cap. So don't tell me you are so good at casting that you or your son don't need to use the adjustments.
