May I ask why? I find it interesting, because cats were revered by the Jews but there was a Christian backlash against cats during the middle ages; rumors of them being used in dark magic or being the familiar of witches. That backlash is still felt in the Western world today, especially in the United States. So much so, that there are plethora of movies in our media that portray cats as villains. Its in the public subconscious that cats are evil or considered pests, instead of the clean, vermin-killers that they are.
