A grinder will cut through the disc in 30 seconds and remove this lock , there are $70 locks that will do just as good as this and you will save $130 for another lock, the more locks the better.

This is a interessting point. 2 locks but not the priciest. Do you use more than one lock?
@YaboyCurtis_4 жыл бұрын
Jerrybasel 2 locks on the front disc on either side of the break calliper and do the same to the back disc so the bike can’t move even an inch backwards or forwards, or if you have holes in your sprocket that’s a good place to put a lock and don’t go for locks with the push down pins unless it is double locking like a xena xx14, the best locks available at the moment are detecto 8077, Oxford boss alarm disc lock, Victory x plus 68, abus granit quick, detecto 8008, xena xx14, abus granit power xs 67

How about a one year review on this product. You still happy with it?

I just purchased this, the cardboard looks different, the key has a white light, not blue. Maybe the ones made for exporting to the USA are different... I have no idea...

Hello I'm from france, i would like too purchase a detecto 8008 after a 8000. I would like you to tell how large is the 8008, because i think it is wider as the 8000. No shop in the area has this lock in stock. Thanks for your answer.

Do you recommend this disc lock? What about alarm? How sensitive is it?

What's up with that card with the keys? Do u need to bring the card with you?
@bloodymarvelous47904 жыл бұрын
The card is for ordering additional keys. Keep that in a safe place at home.

Does it fit for cbr500r 2016 model? thanks
@JCCamp8 жыл бұрын
+najim H hey! Hard to say, it depends on the design of the brake rotor. ABUS has a printable template on their website, with the lock size and spacing. If you print that you should get an idea.

+najim H I don't know, but they have a template on their website for each of their products. You can print it at 100% and check your brake disk.

They simply cut the disk with a grinder if they really want your bike

Alarm accessible from top through thin sheet of metal. Grinder or ball hammer would stop the alarm in seconds. Crap design.
@JCCamp7 жыл бұрын
+MUNRO MUSIC not thin metal by any standards, this thing is heavy and thick. And don't you think the sound from a grinder (+sparks??) would attract even more attention than the alarm? I can't test your hammer theory, but I doubt it as well...

I'm curious how much the alarm is muffled if you cover up those 6 slits with your fingers. Also, 100dB isn't that loud. Would much rather have it be 110-120dB (10x-100x louder).
