This story was so disturbing, infuriating. My heart breaks for those sisters. Their “mother” failed then in many ways & was extremely neglectful. Her behavior, demeanor in general was disgusting, but especially and more so after failing the second half. The gaslighting, denial and defensiveness.. I understand she was a victim herself, but she wasn’t the victim in this situation & the fact that she tried to come off as such made it even more disturbing. I will never understand why these mothers confront the abusers IN FRONT of their children (THE VICTIMS). Like wtf do you think is going to happen.. When she said she gave the diary to him, ugh!! And letting that same daughter go off with him.. sickening. Personally, I don’t think she’ll ever take accountability for the half of the test she failed.. but I could be wrong. We may not agree, but the end of the day, it is the choice of the (adult) child, if they still want their parent in their lives, and I feel the reason some choose to do so.. is because deep down, that inner child in them just wants that love they didn’t have. This was one of those stories that became more disturbing as it was told. When the daughter on stage said she was told she wanted/was accused of wanting her sister’s life/to live her sister’s life (I forget how it was worded/phrased), I cringed. What really matters is how you raised your kids when they were in your care. My mom tried the "it doesnt matter now. What do you want me to say? I cant change the past". Now it wasnt this bad to the extent of molestation but the damage was done emotionally. I was raised and grew up having issues. Its so hard to fix things as an adult. I wanted to just leave everything in the past, including any relationship with my parents. They blame me but Im used to that. I hope this girl can heal and be happy. Legal team ample time to get a list of Q’s ready based off the book. Fully Prepared not just a quick flick in court & miss things. Monster has their cards in advance to get prepared even if he was arrested, it’s safe with someone else. Monsters are sly & clever. It can throw victims off naturally & their case becomes weaker. My family & friends in legal sector always say if you go through things write it down no matter how small/big! Give it to someone you trust. Keep all your cards super glued to your chest at all costs, to lay them down in court when they least expect it. As a Psych Prof we also tell people who have gone/going through things they should write everything they remember, even if it’s not in order. Can later put it all in order. Keep a diary to write daily it’s dated & wont have pressure of trying to remember anything that may happen. If have photos send them to someone you trust & ask them to print them & keep it with everything else they keeping safe & delete it off your devices. As people are shady & will try look for things that can help them. Just don’t do anything obvious & put yourselves in potential danger. If you’ve been abused in life asked & you say no that doesn’t mean you’re in the wrong at all. Many don’t feel ready mentally/physically & say no. Talk when their ready to go through it. Please don’t worry & stop yourselves from getting justice! At same time you’ll take a monster lurking around freely off the streets, who has access to innocent children & adults. Your helping on a large scale more than you think. Thank you to all who’ve done/going through this process as a mother myself it’s great to know if not straight away at some point someone will speak up & 1 less monster lurking around on earth.
