@grafvonstauffenburg Not really. Dr Martens were bought out by a multinational conglomerate a few years ago, and redesigned the boots and opened up a factory in the Far East. Some of the originals mage in the Nottingham Factory are still traded between collectors because they are far superior in materials, construction, and comfort than the redesigned ones. You have to know quality to judge it. A lot of people today don't know quality because cheap, throw away fashion is so prevalent. A question: have you ever though why these cobbler channels don't feature women's shoes? It's because most on the market aren't worth repairing because women consumers have been trained to buy fashion over quality, and that makes the shareholders happy. We, the consumers need to change and be more savvy consumers and learn about how clothing and shoes are made and buy quality. We will have to soon anyway because the days of cheap and cheerful are on their way out, as those poor workers earning under $5 a day in the Far East ain't going to be happy forever settling for less, and the percentage of GDP paid to workers in the developed countries continue to fall over time, we won't be able to be so penny smart and pound foolish. There's no a channel where a female historical costumier taught herself to make shoes, and that hobby isn't cheap, but shoe goes through the steps of how say, a early 20th century female boot was constructed, and you would be hard pushed to find that quality today. We're the fools.

Finding someone to do professional refinish work could of been a deciding factor as well. I wouldn't want to send shoes off to someone and get back a horrible rework but maybe the person stumbled upon bedos videos and seen the quality and care that goes in to his work and that was enough to part with the shoes to get what looks like a brand new product and you see the pride that comes with what he put in to it.

Weird about the glued soles. On the Gucci website, for all the loafers I can find with that exact style upper it says they're Blake construction. I don't suppose there are any signs these have been repaired once before, by someone too cheap or lazy to stitch them? Ugh. They have a whole selection of loafers designed to be worn with the heel folded down so that you're stepping on it. Why? Edit: KZbin comments are a mess. It's not only inserting extra blank lines, but it's double-posting when I go back to fix it.

It's great seeing someone do their job, do it so brilliantly and enjoy doing it too! You always see to go that extra mile out for your customers, and that reminds me of my dad, he used to be like that too. Stay blessed.

I did leatherwork for many years, but it was more hand tooling accessories. I am stunned at how good these shoes look! I figured there was no way to make them look better than new. You are definitely a master of your trade!

I see someone has taught you how to click bait your thumbnails..... No need! Your content speaks for itself!

Spencer Grady that wasn’t click bait. It’s the literal shoe he just fixed. It’s another project. Why did you say that?
@spencergrady1656
@spencergrady1656 4 жыл бұрын
@@spookshow6999 I'm not referring to the specific content, I'm referring more to how the photo is set up in a "click bait" type style. The "shocked face looking at *INSERT ITEM*" look that is all to familiar. I know Bedo wouldn't ever actually click bait us, it's just I notice how it wasn't our standard "photo of the shoe itself".

I just bought a Rita Hayworth autographed photo, when I told my friends what I paid .. they thought I was nuts .. I told them that this signature represents a minute of her life. What I'm getting at, as a collector, it was worth the price .. to me. What I'm also saying is that I understand "sentimental value" .. it is worth the price. Great video. Cheers ....
