Ways to make sure someone doesn't have reach hacks: Make a small bridge with 3 blocks in the middle that are 1 block taller than the bridge separating you and the enemy on the other side. Aim your sword at the enemy reaching out to hit the feet of the dude if they choose to on top of the blocks. If they can reach you while staying at the other side of the bridge, hacks.
