Finally a video about changing the diameter!I've been looking for an answer for two days, but no one mentions it. Infuriating!Everyone is just talking about pitch! Thank you very much for the information! Finally a normal video! Changing the diameter by 1/4 inch results in a change of 150 +/- 50 f/p Pitch 1 "change results in a 150 +/- 50 f / p change. Honda BF 60 11,10 × 13 max 6400 f/p I exchanged 10 3/4 x 16 max 6000 f/p decreased, changed. Comment! The smaller propeller jumped better on the ship. Acceleration was better. Top speed has not changed.Test at full load. In the spring, I will try to fit a larger diameter propeller.I'm curious about the change. 11,25 x 15

For instance I have a 1200 lb bass boat with a yamaha 50 2 stroke. The boat is 17.5 ft long. The prop that is on it is 11.125 x 13-G. I only get 3500 rpms out if my motor wot. Please help.

Yamaha 30hp 3 cylinder question my motor came with a Yamaha prop 10 3/8 x 13 = 5200 rpm at 28 mph but Rpm is to low . So what about a Yamaha 11 5/8 x 11p . I gain rpm with the lower pitch but loose rpm because of the increase in diameter? My other choice is a 12 1/4 x 9 pitch but then my speed will really drop . Will the 11p work ?

The added diameter will not take your rpm down further than what you will gain from the drop in pitch, far from it. If you're at 5200, you are quite a bit over. If memory serves, you'll need to be around 5800-6000 rpm. The 11" sounds like a good choice. The 9" is way too low.

In my case, the problem was not in knowing which propeller would be better, it was that my choices were limited to just two propellers, the standard one, and the optional slightly lower pitch one, both of whom have way too much pitch. (Honda 5 hp on a 1,600# 17' LOA sailboat)

Yes, that sailboat is a problem...to lighten the load take off the mast, rigging, and shorten the keel. The Honda will have a much easier time.

@@PFLEONARDI0906 So what you are telling him is that as he arrives at the marina, he needs to throw his mast overboard, and get under the boat with a saw? Good advice........

The problem I had with yamaha prop selector is that they don't show hp under 25 no matter what boat type. And only shows 3 blade prop. I have a yamaha 9.9 and want a 4 blade prop.
@AB-80X Жыл бұрын
You may want that, but pretty sure that's not an option.

@AB-80X they do make one. I tried it, but it's not as good as the three blade.

Is there a formula to calculate the right prop from what you want to achieve?
@AB-80X Жыл бұрын
Not really. If you don't have experience you really need to talk to someone who does. And before you do, you need to get on the water and test what you currently have. You need speed by GPS and RPM. What you need to know is the max speed @ X RPM. You should also know the best cruise speed @ X RPM. Then take note of things such as how does it get on plane, how does it corner etc. You also need to know what the diameter and pitch is of your current prop, as well as the gear ratio. From that someone like the company Bblades can help you out. The neat thing is that those guys can not only get you close right out of the box, but they can also adjust the prop if needed be. They also have a prop testing program. If you know what you are doing, then you need a prop slip calculator.
