this is nice. I'm used to DMS or Z talking alone in their reviews and this 3 panel discussion adds dimensionality to reviews. more please...

Guys, next time discuss pairings with DACs, tube types, etc. more of the details is what I mean. Differences between this version and the standard WA33, etc.

This amp was my absolute favorite with the TC. I remember telling your pops it was my favorite at Canjam NYC. It sounded wayyyy better than the stack at your table. To my ears of course. That’s when I knew the TC was sound-insanity.

I have the WA-6SE and I absolutely love it. I’m definitely shooting for the A-22 at some point. I’ve gone through a number of tube amps including hybrids always looking for the perfect tube experience. The Woo stuff is some of the best built tube pieces in the world and Woo Audio has only been around since the early 00’s. It’s hard to believe. With flawless case work, point to point wiring, direct sales,!and even the ability to speak with Jack Wu himself, Woo Audio is truly an American gem.

@aceofspades66674 жыл бұрын
@@metal571 The atom won't work with the 1266 Phi TC but I'm hopeful of the A90 and Flux FA10... I'm sure something in the $500 - $750 will though... I'm tried the Schiit Lyr, Phonitor E, and Violectric V280 and all don't drive the 1266 correctly for dynamics.

AC/DC's Back in Black is not so great a recording?? You're joking right? Bearing in mind it was made in 1980, it's good enough to send into space as one of man's finest achievements. I'd say engineers have more refined techniques for recording drums these days, and there's a couple of minor dropouts on Givin' the Dog a Bone, but other than that it's perfect.
@ABYSSHeadphones3 жыл бұрын
You misunderstand , Back in Black one of my favorite albums, enjoyed it since it came out in 1980, own it! To me it’s about as badass as it gets, still sounds good today in ‘digital’ given a proper setup, which was the point here. Let’s just say conversion to CD’s did it no justice, add 10db at 30 Hz to play it back properly on a high-end system, but KZbin (of all formats) along with Ironman brought it back to its throne in modern day, so to speak. How long do the tubes last ? And where can you buy those tubes and how much do they cost ? How do you know wether 1 tube is dead ?

Sub 1000 dollar amps discussion for abyss headphones would be great too. I recently came across schiit lyr 3 review and the first thing that came to my mind was, "If I somehow save up and spend 5000 dollar on 1266 tc, would I get great enough performance with a sub 1000 amp dac setup? or should I buy Diana Phi and spend 2000 dollar on amp and dac?" At the present moment I'm that guy listening to porta pro on garage and 1266 tc is my dream can. :)
@256alexdt3 жыл бұрын
Ishhh spending only 1000$ on a Amp/Dac setup for the 1266 TC is kind of a waste .... If I had to recommend something if you really want the 1266 TC is buy them and buy a cheap Amp/Dac(THX 789 With some basic Dac) setup to start and put money aside right away to get something better ... I'd say you need at least 2-3k dac/amp combo to really open the 1266 TC else it's like running a Ferrari on a 300$ set of tires, it's still good but you're wasting a lot of potentiel.

WA33 is the perfect match to 1266, not so much with Susvara. Susvara shines with Viva 845 and PRIMAVERA. But you have to be richhhhhhh to get these crazy stuff lol
@samchance98874 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the great video. Can you comment on how hot the WA33 amp gets? If I get one for my desk-side headphone system, would I feel the heat from about two feet away? 10 watts Class A seems like it might radiate a bit!
@ABYSSHeadphones4 жыл бұрын
It draws about 150 watts so consider this as a heater, it’s not that hot at say 2 feet, however the chassis builds up a good amount of heat the longer it’s played. Nothing that a small USB table fan can’t help steering heat away if it bothers you.

Low impedance, gain depends on source, usually try to be around 12 o’clock on volume control at normal listening. Multiple sources low gain is safe.
