Abyss also left something out (probably for video pacing): Marbler should've screwed this up. The way he timed the trick out, he needed to punch off the end while the platform was at the highest point of its animation cycle, so he could get off it as soon as possible (since setting up even a slightly more forgiving window means hours more waiting). This means watching the movement carefully while using far-off reference points to figure out the timing. Marbler *didn't do this*. In the VOD you can hear his stomach drop as he only realizes far too late he forgot to check his marks until after triggering the VSC. In every other timeline he just threw away the entire 80-hour run due to dropping the ball after a three-day wait. But through sheer dumb luck he accidentally triggered the VSC at the right moment and managed to clutch it out.

The biggest reason a full run TAS of 0 A presses hasn't been done is because the platforms in BitFS only raise on the Wii VC version. Wii TASes can't be played back on console without desynching, so the run would never be able to be verified on console. I believe a full game 0 A press run is essentially complete except for BitFS, which will need a completely different trick to get past the pole.
@NYKevin1005 ай бұрын
Every now and then, there are murmurs of finding a TAS trick for getting past the pole. The most recent one I heard about involved the platforms that tilt when you walk on them. If you could get Mario to be standing on one of those on frame 1, and then move him far away (to a PU) on frame 2, while the platform is tilting in the correct direction, then you would gain a large amount of height in the PU (because the platform's rotation is applied over a great distance, as with the falling platform in WF), and from there it's a "simple" matter of getting Mario back to the main PU to complete the level. The problem is, I don't think anyone knows how to get hyperspeed in BitFS, and/or how to (precisely) route the trick with the platform once you have hyperspeed. If this is possible at all, it is probably going to be TAS-only, so Marbler's run isn't going to get beaten by multiple days any time soon.
@iwersonsch51315 ай бұрын
I'd say the 70 star ABC TAS is about 70-80% done, leaving out those stars past BitFS that rely on RNG and will have to be redone anyway. However, it is regularly being redone to incorporate new improvements to the earlier stars

VSC (short for Veri SuBBo Challenge) is an unrated 2.1 collaboration level created by BoBoBoBoBoBoBo (commonly shortened to Bo) and Woom, published by Bo and verified by Yossarian. It is a challenge level. The level is similar to Superr Challenge, a previous challenge by Bo (also verified by Yossarian), and shares a similar colour scheme and basic decoration approach. VSC is mostly a rusty colour, and the visual style is somewhat industrial. The gameplay consists entirely of extremely tight wave spam and timings, both as mini-size and normal-size. The speed varies between 0.5x and 1x throughout the level. Many people, including top players, consider this one of the hardest levels in the game.
