@0033mer

The gate to source input of the mosfet is high impedance so it will not load down the output voltage of the charge pump circuit. You can also vary the value of the 220k bleeder resistor to adjust how long the LED stays on after the AC current drops to zero. Another variation is to use an opamp as a voltage comparator to trigger the LED.

So I have an LED on the active LOW output, but it never really shuts off. So I was thinking maybe the op-amp output noise never puts the gate LOW. Would a split power supply to the op amp with a negative voltage be better to pull the gate LOW? I have noticed that red LED is easier to shut of while blue, white and green (if I remember it right) are not as easy to shut off, Im guessing it has something to do with the voltage drop difference. Im switching a fan on and off sensing a 230Volt heatgun and it works pretty good for being my first build, and Im actually sensing directly on the op-amp output and its a bit sensitive but it works not perfect but okey. I could not get the intended output to switch off so I took this path instead. thanks for a great video

Hey man cool video. I need a help. My friend keeps frying his phone chargers, router power adapters etc. I took them apart and all of them look really charred. He asked me to build him a good charger but I'm worried that the power quality in his house might be dodgy but I'm not sure. What kind of protection should I put in the charger input to ensure it doesn't blow up like the other ones?

Try to find out the source of the poor power quality and get it restored. If no luck there install a Sola CVS transformer (constant voltage transformer) Check on ebay.

Hi. Great videos. I need to pick your brain. . . I run a full solar system in my 9 ton truck and caravan. (Australia ) I am retired and travel Oz. I run an 8kw inverter for my heavy loads. Hot water system, bread machine, coffee machine etc. Rest of the time, I switch over to my small 1kw inverter. The internal 1kw inverter fan, switches on above 45 deg C. For me, I prefer to run the inverter cooler so I have an additional cooling fan running all the time. I'd like to control when the fan runs. Say 0.5 amps (240v in Oz) 120 to 150 watts. It's so annoying at night when there's almost Zero load and the fans running. Noise. . . Do you have anything that can operate a relay to switch the fan on and off thats controlled by the load amps ?

You need an AC current sensing switch. Here is an example. The current trigger value is adjustable. Get the model that meets your current/voltage needs www.amazon.ca/NK-Technologies-AS3-NOAC-FT-Normally-Solid-core/dp/B005S71MAC

Out of curiosity, if the swing on the coil is 600mV, would a single germanium NPN not be an adequate alternative to the whole op amp front end?
@0033mer
@0033mer Жыл бұрын
Yes, with a large enough output you could feed that directly into an indicator circuit or even an ADC of a microcontroller. By adjusting the burden resistor, this circuit was designed to detect large currents to very small AC currents. I use the op-amp circuit to build many types of custom sensors. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXbUl3ullMyofZo kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJDEeISghd-sidU

Then one bulb holder add a bulb then display indicate like 40watt of bulb now iam add second bulb then display indicate 40w+40w=80watt. And one set value like 300Watt then iam add bulb more then 300Watt then my relay trip and display indicate overloading. So how iam make this project please help for circuit diagram and arduino code only please help me. Relay my comment.

can i use this sensor to measure dc current? for example a current of a 190 v dc motor
@0033mer
@0033mer 4 жыл бұрын
No ... the sensor uses a transformer which needs a moving magnetic field (AC) for proper operation. For DC detection you need a linear Hall effect sensor. www.elecrow.com/acs712-current-sensor-30a-p-710.html

I don´t understand why you connect your GND line in the protoboard (0.29s) .... It´s already connected from the factory... Arduino Boys :(
@0033mer
@0033mer 3 жыл бұрын
The power and ground rails on my solderless breadboard are split at the center and are not connected from the factory. When Continental Specialties introduced the solderless breadboard in the early 70's the power and ground rails were split and were for many years with many vendors until knock-offs from China came on the scene. As a teacher I see students forgetting to apply the jumpers and wonder why their circuit is not working. I can see you are a beginner to prototyping with solderless breadboards. The Arduino bootloader on the ATmega328p has been erased ad reflashed with a FORTH operating system and programmed in FORTH so no "Arduino" code is running. www.forth.com/resources/space-applications/

@@0033mer If the blue/red line is continuous, so the breadboard is connected internally. Try It...
@0033mer
@0033mer 3 жыл бұрын
Yes .. If the lines are continuous they are connected internally. Some boards the lines are broken indicating they are not connected internally. When a student carries around these boards in their backpack the blue/red lines eventually rub off which causes problems. I instruct all students to apply jumpers and leave them there no matter what the markings are. This resolves many problems for the students.
