Thanks for your efforts to explain. When the compressor is ON it loads the engine and if it is off less load on engine. If the fan speed is 1, compressor cools the cooling coil very fast and switches off the compressor and increase millage. It is better to keep the ac in Auto mode and it will save energy and keeps the car in uniform cooling.

the compressor derives its mechanical power from engine not the fan just like you said but if the fan speed increases the evaporator inside compressor gets heated quickly and the compressor has to engage with the engine to draw more power so indirectly the fan speed does effect the FE.!!
