Liverpool entered this match leading the group by 10 points, won the group by a staggering 11 points. @@Heatwave9000 First of all half those Liverpool players were starters unless you’re saying mane salah and Allison ain’t. And yes compared to Liverpool they have no depth. They’re relying on a 41 to score goal and with some key players missing I knew they were gonna lose. The truth is that although they are first they won’t remain there forever. They’re interspersed in that botman guy which is a start. Once they start reinforcing the attack and midfield they’ll be better in the UCL. You also have to remember it’s a young squad, many of these players have yet to play in the champions league. They’ll be back next year since top 4 in serie a is done and dusted already I’d say so with a few key signings they’ll do much better next year with experience.

Have they been living under a rock for a decade? In 2008 Liverpools valuation was 30% higher than AC Milans, in 2021 it is 850% higher than AC Milans. Milan is valued at apx. the same figures as Everton, and it would suprise few if they would lose 1-2 to Liverpool. To say that Milan is underachieving based on what they did in the 90's is like saying that PSG is overachieving, even when they lose 1-2 against Lille, based on how bad they where in 1997 (they ended the season as nr. 8 in Ligue 1). According to Deloitte Football Money League Liverpool has the fifth highest revenue in the footballing world, while AC Milan ranks 30 (their lowest score ever). The difference is some 450 million € .... Are they all of a sudden surprised that money talks in football? You kind of expect a team not to win Champions League when they sign a 40yr old Ibrahimovic for free, take Ante Rebic on a loan, selling the worlds best goalkeeper to PSG and pays 1 million € for a Oliver Giroud that scored 4 goals in his last Chelsea-season.

Many injuries, including their captain. Fighting hard in Serie A for the win. Haven't been in CL in 8 years. Get group of death. And people clowning on Milan... Don't get me wrong, it wasn't the best game, but Milan has been improving massivly lately with the signing of Zlatan and for a team that was in the bottom half of the Serie A table just a few years ago to be expected to go through the group stage of CL isn't realistic. wow, no mention that Milan only lost each of their CL matches by 1 goal. no mention of the amount of injuries in the Milan squad. BTW How is this more embarrassing than Porto losing 3-1 at home when they were in control of their own destiny? Milan has been building a project the last 2 years. They have steadily and consistently progressed in that time to get into the CL. The goal this year (for most supporters) was to get back to CL next year to build experience. They will be back next year and will continue to improve.

Didn’t atletico lose twice to liverpool as well 🤦🏾‍♂️. Does that make la liga an embarrassment? Lol. Liverpool are just a superior side that’s all. Barca may not even qualify in a group that includes benfica and dynamo Kiev. You can trust AC Milan would have qualified from the group Barca is in currently. Also inter and Juve have already qualified and Atlanta may join them tomorrow. Lol what do you want from serie A 😂. They are clearly not as good as the premiership or have a team that is better than Bayern or the three top English teams. But Italian sides can definitely compete with Madrid, Barca, man utd and psg. There is a lot more money in the UK than in Italy. Italy really were one of the biggest loser in the EU, looking at their economic stagnancy and fall, since joining the EU. The Uk economy benefitted from it, and the elites were financially better off. Therefore, those elites have more money to invest in football, and can more easily attract foreign investment and buyers, which brings in more money. There is also more money for tv deals, and more money that can come into match day concessions. This is the modern issue with football. The financial growth of a certain few teams and countries is making the game less interesting and more predictable.

We couldn't even get out of the round of 32 of the Europa league, I remember losing to Zenit and Besiktas and the team looked hopeless. I'll tell you what we are watching, years of investment in time/passion/pride/money not just in the players but the whole setup of English teams. I'm talking coaching, physical, nutrition, comms, scouting, player family relations and many others. They come together to make what is a well oiled machine and I personally have seen this working in football previously, I never thought we would get there but we have and like so many other things that this nation champions, we should be proud. They must be looking at us in either respect, shock and or envy. This is only the start and we have seen it filter into the England senior team which is an absolute example to how football is managed and played in this country, it's an honour and a privilege to witness the start of a golden age - a new era of excellence. ❤

I normally hate the phrases like farmers league and all that stuff. It's disrespectful to the game. But what Milan tonight is disrespectful not just to their fans but to Serie A in general. No one on AC Milan had more than 2 shots all game. Which is the same number of shots that Konate and Neco each had. Milan had a chance on the counter from a Liverpool corner. Minamino was under a high ball, running facing his goal. The type of situation where a miscontrol can happen. There was no AC Milan player within 10 yards of him to force him into a mistake. So many times he got the ball in an unfamiliar midfield role and turned with again, no pressure. I don't care about injuries that Milan had. The least you can do is run, press and work harder than Liverpool. Milan didn't do any of those. 8 shots to Liverpool's 22. In this 6 game campaign, Milan averaged 8 shots a game only once getting 10+ shots. In those same 6, opposing teams averaged 17 shots per game. 4 times teams managed to take 20 or more shots against Milan. No hunger, no desire. So very disappointing
