Hi Gavin, thank you for your personal answer (via a previous YT video you uploaded). I really appreciate your helping us (especially "older" us people) with the way you test equipment and the tools that you use. In today's expensive energy world, these instruments can be very useful. May God bless you and keep on your great work, Ciao, L (Veteran)

Gavin, thank you for reviewing these enery monitors. For my situation, I would buy more than one to cover different circumstances and scenarios.

Great to know, the 120/240 50 AMP in and out plug is the one I'll be looking at. Thanks!

Some negative reviews on Amazon are mentioning the meter only checks a single leg for current on 240v applications. Might be worth looking into.

These reviews are wrong. That’s just people that don’t know how to use the product.

I wonder why they don't make one of these with a 30A 240V 4-prong twist lock on the input and a 30A 240V 4-prong twist lock on the output. I mean, that is probably the most common portable generator connection that folks use.

Exactly what I was thinking. I would have bought one in a heart beat. That being said, I’m going to DIY one myself.

Hey Gavin, I wanted to know your opinion on doing some modifications to these cheaper little inverter generators (WEN, Champion, Westinghouse, etc.) -- What are your thoughts on the following. * adding an in-line gas filter * changing the spark plug out with a NGK * T-ing in to a gasline and adding an option for additional fuel that way * adding more insulation to the inside to quiet them down even more * building a cover to dampen noise * adding a oil plug that has a magnet in it * I've heard of people a dab of transmission fluid into the carb to keep it clean until the next time they use gas, any thoughts on this Just some thoughts that I had that you might have answers to.

I think all those modifications are great to extend the life a few generator

So the 50 amp ones only have 1 screen. Do you think in comparison to the one you made a year ago thay you are only then getting a reading from one leg and not both??
@GeneratorReviews7 ай бұрын
You get the reading from both legs on that one

Hey Gavin, can you please do a review/test of the 50 amp unit? I see reports that the 50 amp unit only measures one leg of the 240, giving you only a 120 reading. That makes sense because I think these are made for RV's, which hook up to 50 amp 240v, but only use 120v being that nothing in a RV uses 240.

I will do a test video and post it soon 👍🏾

Do you have a video for newbies explaining "what you need" in equipment to get started? I am looking to turn my enclosed trailer into a hunting trailer. I think I want 30 amp, 4500ish watt generator , some receptacles for lights etc.. Do I need an electrical panel , surge protectors etc? What equipment am I looking for? Thanks in advance..

I am actually going to convert my utility trailer into a mobile shop with AC and inverters and receptacles so maybe I’ll record that process and post it.

On the 15 Amp meter, one side plugs into your house AC? 15 amps isn't very much I must be missing something? Are there videos showing how to set these meters up and what all their functions are?
@GeneratorReviews8 ай бұрын
There’s no setting up they’re completely plug and play. You can get 15A all the way up to 50 amp so it just a matter of getting the one that works for you.

So unfortunately this does not monitor both legs and only monitors up to 4000v. So I only found that out after I purchased and received it. So I modified it and we'll installed 2 new gauges the way it should be.
