This is a method in converting SURFACES to SOLID 3D. type PR to check the property of the object, click the dish head, and it would display surfaces or solid. In your case it turned out to be surfaces( which happened when I first did it), meaning the objects were not completely joined. Examine and rejoin before using REVOLVE command. Another option is to use SCULPT command, you can either type sculpt or go to the ribbon, and select the SURFACE TAB and inside the edit panel, select SCULPT command, then window or select the whole head. Now, it would convert the surfaces to one solid object. To check, double click the object, and if you check the property, it will show that it is now solid. 10:21 How do you display the selection tool that shows line, 3d solid etc... And how do you get a solid view of objects ? I mean the top lid created never go as a 3d solid. 06:47 you get the full object selected. I can't achieve that.

click the "selection cycling " at the status bar located at the bottom of the screen to turn the setting on.

For the elliptical DIsh Head, make sure that all all segments are joined before revolving it. You can use join command directly or use Pedit ->click one segment --> select yes to polyline-->click join --> click all the segments.

it would take longer compared to using Cadworx, Autoplant or Autocad plant. To make it easier, create blocks for your pieces of equipment and fittings ahead of time.

I made a mistake, for NPS of 3", it is not 120 mm from the center to end but 114.3 mm and same with the radius.

join first the broken segments by typing join command to make them into one object, then type revolve , enter 360 degrees

@@AC3DCad I have made them into join, if you noticed that revolve drawing to 360 degree. Thus my drawing will be at 6:36 but not same as 6:40 since the revolve line looked simpler

@@AC3DCad I have that same dilema too. I joined the object then when I revolve, it comes out like 6:36 with the lines crossing outside of the ellipse but not like at 6:41
