Why Athena? From Britannia you could have had: Rita (already taken) Brit Tannia Ann Annia And that’s before we start really jumbling the letters up!

This boat will be used by the women's America's Cup team and Athena was a war godess who also fought with Poseidon for Athens (named after Athena). Also, Athena Racing is the name of now given to the company that was Ben Ainslie Racing and is effectively the company that is 'INEOS Britannia'... so although it only shows up in their Athena Pathway (womens pathway) it's obviously a name they like!
