This is an AL-6000R, which is the model that came before the RE-1600. The AL-6000R has 8 throats while the RE-1600 only has 4

It looks like a deformed WPS 4008 with EOWS style drivers. My guess is that there's 8 200 watt amps like a 816 controller would have. I like it. Does it fully work?
@Cemoman1711 жыл бұрын
Nice. It would be so epic if you did a walkaround of you whole siren collection. Do you own a mobil directo? I saw that sombody said that you did one time. Thanks.

Is there an official model number on this siren? Is it RE-1600. I've been thinking it's actually the 6000R.

+4J25 These are original ACA Allertronic 6000s, from Sarnia installed in the mid 80s. I witnessed them being installed, have heard and seen them many many times. Saw them silenced in 1997, and removed in 2012. Even have the local news paper article of them being decommissioned from 1997. Unlike many of the Allertronic videos on youtube. My cousin who has sadly passed away used to have a video of them sounding on youtube. These Dual tone sirens were unique, slow windup and wind down at full volume with wonky timbre to them. Almost like a cross between a EOWS 612 and a Whelen l 3016.... I am not sure which sound card ACA used for these particular models and I was hoping the owner of this would get them working but it looks like he has abandoned the project. I have tried to join the airraidsiren board but for some reason I get denied.

+Sluff Adlin Was it your cousin who uploaded the audio of them being tested and another video of them whopping? I remember those videos from 2013 and they just suddenly disappeared.
@SluffAdlin8 жыл бұрын
ChicagoSirens I believe so, he was obsessed with these things. Actually we both were lol. We did record them at his house on to cassette when we were younger, around 1991ish. They, or should I say one of them, were malfunctioning (wouldn't shut off) so a 3 minute test turned into a 30 minute one LOL. Last I remember, these had a "hard" wind up, they are dual toned, and they had a long wind down. Unlike our sirens in-place today (ATIHPSS32), the city didn't take very good care of the Allertronics, especially the cold war ended, which is one of the main reasons why our original B&N system was upgraded. That system failed an annual "fire drill" cold war exercise in 1985. I think the Allertronics were donated to Sarnia, but I'm not sure about that. I was hoping, still am hoping this guy would get this one up and running, would love to hear them again. The other ACA Allertronics on youtube don't sound anything like these, that was something both my cousin and I agreed upon. I will see if i can find that audio from the old videos, I think he still has his computer, he upload a video of all the pictures him and my Aunt took back in 1998 to another account.

That would be absolutely amazing. This is by far my favorite type of warning siren and it would be awesome to hear more original audio from them. Too bad there's not many left.
