Woah wicked I went to hear a P-15 and wow those little guys kick butt

Oh yes they do. I heard one somewhere in the ambiance while filming today, kinda made me turn around and wonder how the heck I heard it. The nearest P-15 is probably 6 miles to the southwest and yet I heard it.

I have always prefered siren recording from far distances rather than one 40ft away.

Wind blocks sound a lot it would of bin a little louder with no wind and you can just barely see it zoomed out.

I thought these can be heard 15 miles away
@SirenDude1003 Жыл бұрын
The conditions would have to be absolutely *perfect* for that to happen. Absolutely no wind, dead silent, cold with snow on the ground, then maybe. But even then I think 15 miles is a bit too optimistic.
@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL9 ай бұрын
Nah they can only do 6 miles at mos. What is crazy is that most rotating Whelens can carry around that far, if not further and so can P-15s and even some Thunderbolts. Ik the Fire Station 7 Thunderbolt in Glenview could prb be heard from 10 miles bc of it’s low pitch before it got replaced

@@SirenDude1003 There is an ACA Cyclone 125 that I can easily hear 2.3 Miles away if there is not too much wind or outside noise.
