many years back i was listening to pollock interview and the indian anchor said something about hinduism when he was talking anout abhinav gupta , he tried to disassociate sanatan dharma from ancient indian philosophy , i felt he has some agenda until then in the interview i dint , then my suspision came through when i checked more of his work snd narayan murthy son gave lot of money for research unwittingly to this chap, i font know why our sanatani scholars approavh murthy foundation dation

This dissociation of the knowledge from Indian religious practices is similar to the Western approach to Ancient Greek culture where they separate Plato and Aristotle from their pagan Greek culture. For example doctors in the West take the Hippocratic oath based on Ancient Greek culture but conveniently leave out that it an oath to the Greek God Apollo.

Can the Padma Shree be taken back from him? It is more necessary than the Kohinoor. Padma Shree to Pollock like a diamond necklace in a monkey's neck If the Padma award is that cheap, then the government should confer it posthumously on Afzal Guru, Burhan Wani, etc., or living legends like Dawood and JeM supremo MM Azhar, at least the award will have some merit and profit. Will the government dare to do so?

Your critique of Pollock is valid. But whenever I hear statements such as Western Indology is anti-Hindu, I feel discouraged. Surely there have been many sympathetic scholars of Hinduism in the West. Please refrain from sweeping generalizations. Name the names, as you did with Pollock.

It is very true that all 99.99% of western people are anti-Hindu. To be votary or supporter of Our SD, you must do the following: 1. Verbally/Intellectually hit back at anti-Hindu people and their ideology. 2. File police complaints against people who speak anti-Hindu anti-India matters or causes hate speech and jail them for 30 - 50 years. 3. Destroy the communist , christian & islamic ecosystem by physically eliminating people or organisation funding these activities. 4. Promote Sanatan Dharma after learning from a gurukul and a saint scholar. 5. Go back to your country of birth and promote this Dharma, culture & tradition in a peaceful and non coercive manner. 6. Practice SD and realise The Atman (GOD). Then think of writing. Till then all christians and muslims will be considered invaders, rapists, genociders, terrorists, barbaric and animals in behaviour even if they have qualifications for a livelihood.

Western Indology at the institutional level is overwhelmingly Hinduphobic, and patently subversive towards the Dharmic culture/civilization in general. Has been so for at least 150 years. It started as outright military anthropology, a tool for the European colonization of the subcontinent, and later morphed into Orientalism as its most benign form. In fact things have only gotten worse since WWII. There is no place for an emic view of our tradition in Western Indology at all, including in it's franchised Indian Humanities academia dominated by Marxists and neo-Marxists. You just aren't informed enough about the subject.

@orion777ben ~ Your choice of word 'sympathetic' is rather interesting. That's where the hair-splitting begins. Yes, there have been sympathetic western scholars but never been true western scholars. Even those who have been sympathetic have been deeply misinformed & have never bothered to go deeper into Dharma, thus carrying some of their inherent abrahamic biases in to next generations. Besides, they lacked the discipline, rigor, humility to be open & correct themselves when challenged. If one cannot be humble (a paramount requirement in Dharma), one can NEVER be a Dharmic scholar.🛕Har Har Mahadev!🛕
