2015 Fall: Expanded Polystyrene Lightweight Concrete (Group 05CW)

Expanded polystyrene lightweight concrete was tested and analyzed to determine its suitability for construction applications. In this project, expanded polystyrene lightweight concrete was compared with conventional concrete serving as a control group on the basis of strength, cost, and environmental displacement.

in Europe they do not put gravel or sand in the mix since which do not add much strength to the material but reduce the property of good insulation and light weight

when mixing the EPS to concrete the styrofoam float and it will not mix properly what is your solution so that it will not float?

Oh, I forgot to say, Not 100% sure, but I THINK “Styrofoam” is actually a registered trademark of the Dupont chemical corporation, and technically (legally) you can’t call just any expanded polystyrene foam “Styrofoam” unless it was actually made by them, or maybe someone under their licensure ... you have to use the generic term. In every day use, it seems like hairsplitting, but in writing, on a public forum, with a wide audience, I would advise a “better safe than sorry“ policy. If you don’t think little KZbin channels get sued over stuff like this-think again. Companies use web crawlers working 24/7/365 to look for copyright violations. About a week into production, our tiny little community theater got a “cease-and-desist“ letter from a law firm because they used a couple of scenes verbatim from Agatha Christie‘s “mouse trap“ in an original play “The Making of Mouse Trap” written by one of our local directors ...(Community theater play about community theater plays… It was hysterical, BTW) LOL ... We were allowed to finish the show on a one-run basis, and with certain additions to the programs handed out, but unfortunately, it prevented the publication of a very good script without tons of legal rigmarole.

… Amazing; after the first 200 to 300,000 uses of the entire term ‘expanded polystyrene lightweight concrete’ I think you could get away with just using the initials EPLC, yet you can manage to smash “coarse aggregate’ into one syllable, And say it so fast that it just sounds like you stuttered, or coughed… Otherwise, great idea, good video.
