Another classic kit… Most of my kits are 1/72, I only have so much room on my display case / shelf… Not sure where you live, but I get most of my models at TOY FAIRS and INTERNATIONAL PLASTIC MODELER SHOWS… I live in northwest OHIO, so I can go to shows in OHIO MICHIGAN and INDIANIA … I find great deals on everything… I buy up AFTERMARKET PRODUCTS, DECALS and anything else that catches my eye… I enjoy your Channel… I think YOU HELP MODELERS CHOOSE, AN D MAKE DECISIONS ON WHAT TO BUY… If I could I would buy everything, but I think my WIFE would question me… she would ask ANOTHER MODEL… she doesn’t understand 😂😅 I’ll keep watching… CHRIS from OHIO 🇺🇸

Right on, thanks Chris! I try to only buy discount as well. At this point, building is the challenge (time-wise). Like most modelers, I already have too many in the stash, but I still bought 3 kits in June. Just more to review right?

As the reader stated below, the 1/48 Tamiya kit can donate the correct Curtiss Electric symmetrical paddle bladed prop. I have seen many pictures of Georgia and North Carolina ANG P-47N's and all have that prop. My late father was in the New Jersey ANG (joined 1949) and they flew late model P-47 D's. He once said that they "cracked on up" every week....

Thanks for the tip, Alan. Yikes, cracking one up every week is not good! My understanding is that once the jet engines became reliable, the jets were safer, less maintenance, and easier to fly.

What a handsome kit! Some very interesting surface details with the raised access panels. Cockpit and wheel wells look pretty sharp, too, especially for a ~1996 mold. I was not familiar with this kit and will have to add it to the wishlist. Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome Darrell! I am looking forward to seeing it complete and on the shelf.

Detail & Scale Vol. 54 states on page 77 that the most P-47N had the propeller Hamilton Standard symmetrical design paddleblade. That may be achieved as spare part by the Tamiya boxing, even the P-47D razorback ! 😊

In my knowledge, the back of the pilot seat was squared on P-47N. It was rounded on P-47B thru M. 😊

Thanks Giovanni, I'll be sure to use the correct seat on the build!

We'll see how it turns out. I've heard some criticism (prop, seat, and engine front), but the fit looks great, and I'm betting it will turn out nicely. Cheers.
