The movie Richard Jewell was a long time coming, but it was worth the wait to get Paul Walter Hauser to play Jewell. I've seen it twice already. I think it's the best movie of 2019.

Kathy Bates as always was great. Channeled all of Bobbie Jewell's motherly pain and expressed it in the press conference scene. Chills and tears. Wow.

I stopped watching movies a few years ago, because almost everything is godawful. Last night I couldn't sleep, and actually turned on the tv for distraction. Caught Richard Jewell about 5 minutes in, and couldn't turn it off. I was confused, because I was watching a movie that was amazing. At the end, when I saw Clint Eastwood's name, it all made sense. This movie was profound, and I'm so grateful Clint made this. RIP Richard Jewell, a true hero that finally is recognized as such.

'Richard Jewel' - it's the film about Trump. Mr. Eastwood is 89 and is as sharp as a razor. Way to go to 120! :-)
@mrmustard44785 жыл бұрын
LOL not about Trump. Clint has been making "one man against the system" movies before Trump--look at Sully for a recent example. That movie uses the NTSB instead of the media, yet if it was made today I feel like people like you would (wrongly) attribute it as pro-Trump/anti-media. Clint tried to make this movie BEFORE Trump and couldn't only because Warner Bros. lost the rights, and the only reason he's making it now is because they just got them back. It's about Richard Jewell. Nothing else.

@@mrmustard4478 There's always the possibility for applicability. If one sees a film that addresses media bias in one direction or another, it's possible to find similar themes in stories that are otherwise unrelated. See a film like 'Brazil', where themes of government ineptitude can relate to similar stories that in other cases have nothing in common.

@@mrmustard4478 The tone of your comment - "wrongly" - suggests that you're a member of academia - ultimate authority on P or, NP. But... you're not my professor, and my diploma does not depend on a score from you. Your academic affiliation is also surfaces with knowledge of facts but inability to apply them to real life. All in all, for me your comment is as valid as me saying "Mustard is WRONG, ketchup, only ketchup!" :-)
