I have been using Thomas’ amp creations for more than 25 years (HK Access, Tubeman Plus, Zentera). I bought my first AMP1 in September, 2015 and switched to AMP1 Mercury in the end of 2018. He has a rare talent to create the very best guitar tones. Looking forward to meeting the AMP X. 👍🙂

I have a Tube Works Realtube II preamp. I use the stereo returns. I send my stereo pedal board signal into it. The signal passes through into the MosValve and ADA Microcab II at the same time. I use a Boss MS-3 with 3 amp like pedals: Bogner Red Ecstacy, Caitalinbread Dirty Little Secret, and Wampler SLOtortion. It sounds great. I am seriously digging the BluGuitar AMP-1. The use of the nano tubes and power amp built in is really cool.

Damn, looks like some vintage cables from the 70's in that looperkit. I'm 66 and still have all my old cables stored in a box in the attic. Daniel D is the secret of the sauce. I wouldn't say it colours but seems to beef 'hidden' frequencies up instead or bringing them more up front. It's the only pedal that's permanently on. Plenty gear like amps and pedals did come and go but I will never part with Reussenzehn's tubebooster.

It’s that classic Cathode follower circuit. It adds just a touch of fairy dust... 😂 😂

Thomas I love your tone.. Everytime when I see you playing I want change my HSS strat to SSS. And I have done it 4 times now but I never satisfied with the bridge tone then. An di also. Tried the Kloppmann Pickups with dummycoil. So I changed always back to Humbucker. But when I watch your video I'm Thinking again to make a try :)

Hey Thomas, Wendy Melvoin was 18 when first joined Prince, and infact, wrote the music with lisa coleman her partner and one of the keyboard players in princes band! AND Wendy also played this song on guitar with prince live at a benefit concert in 1983 in minneapolis.... Check your information.. Kat Dyson didnt join in with Prince until 1990.. Purple rain was written in 1983, released in 1984 and the music was written by wendy and lisa, and lyrics written by prince. performed with wendy and lisa in princes band first, years before Kat Dyson!

You are right... sorry, I didn’t check exactly which year Kat was playing with Prince. I just know she did play with him, and she uses AMP1 now. So I thought that’s a nice question...Sorry I will ask her for the full story next time I see her. Need to revisit some of my good old prince vinyl/ CDs again too... great music!!!!

Thank you for another inspiring episode, this and the last one were so good I have bought a Replex to go with my Amp1 :) Can I ask, what is the make or brand of the actual large board itself please?

Hi Thomas, excellent as always!! I am trying to talk my son into the virtues of getting an Amp1. He is a Princeton clean tone guy, and currently obtains that tone from a Helix. Would you be so kind to make a "clean" Princeton comparison video? Would love to see his reaction! I'd even pay for it if he could be turned away from the dark side! 🤪 You are a genius! 👍

Hi Mark, as we had a few comments on clean channel and what amps it is based on I think I’ll do a special „clean Sounds“ episode in the future. I’m sure that the amp side is no big deal, as I compared AMP1 clean channel to some of my fender amps, but an open back fender style housing will be an important factor of that tone. Stay tuned!

@@BluGuitar Will definitely stay tuned Thomas. Can't wait to see it! Appreciate all you do for us fellow guitarists 👍

Thomas, i keep going back to those sounds and melodies your making at the 40 min mark on here. And i just replayed the melodies from 44:50 to be exact, and I am sending this message to urge you to finish this piece and write the song that is clearly singing out. and singing out to me. IF you dont, im going to take your recipe and do it myself. THAT SOUND AND YOUR FEEL AND THOSE OVER TONES AND MELODIES ARE INTOXICATING! ( hey thats it! you should finish this song and call it INTOXICATING! : ) please finish that music.. Its beautiful and you just brought to life. IF YOU DO NOT? I AM GOING TOO.! ( and if you do? let me know which record its on, and i will buy that from you )

Hey, " the BROWN SOUND" Is from cooking those marshall plexi EL34 tubes. That is where the brown sound came from. In comparison as you know, the mercury, is made in the voices of the plexi and the jcm 800. You have already said many times in other interviews that the iridium is purposely made for the metal players. ( the " metal " players of the 80s all used plexis and jcm 800s.. Youre right of course, they are both unique and can be used for any sound, BUT as you know because you made them.. they are very different. They have 2 totally different voices and you should just keep telling everyone they are made different to suit different sounds.. you can play the blues on the iridium, but it wont sound so bluesy or emotive as the blues on the mercury. And that is right. Because the were made for two different types of players.. The selling point speaks for itself.. You are a very special guy Thomas. The gifts you have been given by GOD. You are a great musician, you are a great engineer, you are a great inventor, you have a great mind, and you seem to be a very sincere and genuine person. AND THAT IS EVEN GREAT TOO! Great Job! In everything! : )
