ACADIE AMÉRICAINE (2014)

Un documentaire unique sur la présence acadienne en sol américain depuis la déportation jusqu'au 21e siècle. Quelle est la contribution des Acadiens à la société américaine et l'américanisation inévitable de ceux-ci ? À travers ce documentaire, on découvre que plusieurs des symboles qui ont permis à l'Acadie de se définir sont issus des États-Unis. Des Américains de souche acadienne expliquent comment ils se sont intégrés à la société américaine et ce qu'ils lui ont apporté ou lui apportent.

Il y a cet écrivain vers 08:00 qui parle des noms Français dans le Maine. La série American Loggers évoque une famille de bucherons: les Peletier dans le nord du Maine. Beaucoup de leurs employés ont des noms Français aussi. Dans un épisode il y a même une phrase en Français: "La vie des bois" (avé l'accent Québecois), mais j'avais du repasser le passage plusieurs fois pour comprendre ce qu'il disais :) J'avais lu que 20% des noms aux Etats-Unis sont d'origine Franco-Canadienne. Mais certains ont été anglicisés. Par exemple Drewyer le courreur des bois qui a guidé Lewis et Clark s'appelait en réalité: Drouillard, et le mari de Sacajawea: Charbonneau. Des noms bien de chez nous, comme on dit.

Ah, c'est beau ces petites histoires là, ces tranches de vie... Depuis que je suis allé en Louisiane en 2003, j'arrête pas de me documenter sur tous les descendants de la Nouvelle-France comme ça s'est appelé. Je ne crois pas avoir de la famille chez vous, mais il y a toute une histoire qui nous lie, je le sens, les Cousins !

L'Acadie c'est la France révélé, celle de la civilisation universelle qui aurait pu ériger un monde franco-indien, la face du monde en eût été changée ...Un Acadien est une personne sacrée pour moi.

Il reste encore quelques francophones aux USA, mais apres chaque generation, la communaute/diaspora se meurt lentement... il faudrait promouvoir les echanges entre le Quebec et l’Acadie, la Louisiane, et le Vermont, le Maine... les plateformes numerique devrait aider a tisser les liens et raviver les desirs d’appartenance a cette grande famille, beaucoup de gens epreuvent une pulsion a un moment donne d’engager une recherche culturelle pour refaire connaissance avec les traditions et le patrimoine ancestral

wow , je viens de regarder ton reportage , très émouvant , et pourtant moi , je suis de deux cultures différentes , coté paternelle occitant et coté maternelle normand , depuis mon enfance , je suis attiré par l'amérique du nord , des que j'arrive sur le sol américain , je me sens revivre y a quelques chose qui m'attire , j'ai pas d'explication . My dad's generation, He was born in 1939 and told horrible stories of his early years in school being forced to speak English.... I wonder if any of these folks have looked into having Native American (Mik'Mok)DNA from Nova Scotia, if you notice most of us do. Where the dark hair and eye's come from.

In some cases yes. But dark hair and dark eyes can come from french genes too. My family took the ancestry tests and come out mostly of french origin, with a bit of english and irish. Me and my dad have light hair but my mom and sister have dark hair. Most acadians come from the Poitou region which is halfway down of the west coast of France. As you go more south of france you get a more Mediterranean look.

@@nicholasleblanc6592 There's a lot of Irish, Welsh, with a pale skin, with brown or black hairs... They we're telling me when I lived in Ireland that it was the Celt type in facts. The pale hair is more an anglo-saxon type and the red one (around 10% of the society) came from the Vikings (Norway, Denmark) who had established camps on the coast during centuries in the middle-age... We've got the 3 same profiles in french Brittany who isnt't quite too far from Ireland, Welsh, Cornish coasts .

That would be Mi'kmaq not Mik'Mok. Although many Acadians do have indigenous ancestry it comes from a long way back, in the 1600s mostly. That being the case the amount of indigenous DNA would be one percent or less.

My great-grandmother was from Auvergne. She had an Asian phenotype very smal and totally black hair. If you see a photo you say that it is an Asian woman, but it is indeed a French. Auvergne is a small mountain region (volcano) in central France. It is the most beautiful region in France, by far. The modern Auvergna are a mixture of 85% Celts, 10% Latin and 5% Huns (Asian genetics) The huns were conquerors, Mongol horsemen who terrorized all Europe even more than the Viking. A famous French expression says "Where Attila pass, the grass does never grow again" Attila and his horsemen (Huns of the Mongols and the Sarmatians, Persians (present-day is Iran) were totaly defeated in France in 451 AD.
