Great vehicle. I drove the Series IIA 88” ‘skippy’, the Series III 109 V8, Unimog U1300 and Unimog 1700 as a TF Royal New Zealand Engineer. Extra power can be good in the sand, provided that you clean it out afterward and learn how to keep the sand out of various areas (one model of Prado has a bumper that collects sand and pushes it up against the radiator grill when you play amongst the dunes) BUT I much prefer to use a steady as you go approach, wherever possible. It works with my 4WD and and the Isuzu Elf 3 tonne tipper that we use for our building work.
