This could never go out of style. I'm a new Christian that listened to rap,hip hop R&B and Reggea music my whole life. I cannot stand any of it now. The Lord has changed my taste in music, dress , and everything else. When I first heard this music it touched my very soul. I love it. Praise God for this music, His grace and tender loving mercy ❤ God bless you

In my youth, Just As I Am was one of the main songs sang during the alter call. The alter call is an invitation to come forward and publicly give your heart & soul to Jesus. I have very fond memories of this at church camp. Those days are long-gone, but still speak to me every time I hear this song. You sing it beautifully.

I used to sing in choir and in a gospel group, and I say I'm a fan of this man's voice control. The dynamics are superb, but not to the point of compromising the message and sincerity of the song.

When she was a girl, my wife attended worship services and a “Christian” school where pastors and evangelists used manipulation techniques. Sally came to associate this song with that kind of abuse so I have avoided listening to this video when she was at home. She isn’t right now so this is my first time listening to it. My parents died in the ‘80s but WOW does this ever remind me of them. Not that they used this particular song very much but everyone in our family sang and played instruments so we had lots of harmony at home and we were often invited to provide musical offerings during worship services. There were six of us so, in some of the places where we lived, our family was the nearest some folks had ever come to hearing a live orchestra or choir. One of those places a small congregation had a pump organ. The tone of that instrument when my mother played it was remarkably similar to that of many of your renditions; perhaps this one at least as much as any. Someone else mentioned breath control. I think I was not yet eight when my parents began teaching me how to avoid breathing in the middle of a phrase. (I can’t watch TV weathercasters. All the ones I’ve tried to watch in the last couple of decades breathe in the middle of almost every phrase!) If this kind of harmony existed in the music of the majority of today’s congregations, there would be more harmony (of another kind) in our nation and in our world.
