Thank you Heather. You're about the cutest thing ever. I am where you are before you went on your retreat. I struggle. A lot. My father was/is very abusive emotionally. I was always told I was not good enough, I wasn't wanted and other horrible things. My brother was also very nasty to me growing up (I suppose he learned it from my dad.) My ex left me for another woman. Through my life, men have abused and/or left me. I just have no positive male role models and that makes it so difficult to think of God as a "loving Father that sees me as worthy." I just cannot comprehend that. I want to and I try to, but I have not succeeded yet and I'm 46. I am so happy that you have that relationship with God. I can see it on your face. What a blessing! I hold out hope to have that someday as well. God bless.

Hi Catholic Historian, I don't know about you but when I hear the testimony of a beautiful soul such as Heather who had a Kind and faithful mother to model after, it leaves me wondering why certain people had been made to endure in cruel and miserable circumstances. Unfortunately, those wounds let me into sin and I allowed my sins to separate me from our loving God. Misery followed misery! My entire life, my faith was weak and I never knew I had a perfect mother just waiting for me to let her in. By chance I returned to the church in February of this year through a couple of good priests in my parish. I developed a strong devotion to Mary through the Rosary. Almost immediately she started working in my life- both temporally and spiritually. It was Mary who led me to our Father. If you let her she will do the same for you. She is listening. Love her and she will take you by the hand. Through her intersession, I have learned of the great gift and virtue of suffering when offered up with purity. Please pray the Rosary daily- it is a most efficacious healing poltice for your soul. I pray for you!

I am so sorry for your pain and can relate some based on my own life. In my case, my pain and wounds led me to the encounter with Christ that I needed to be healed. But before this, at my bottom, I had begun praying the rosary, and I believe it was through the intercession of our Blessed Mother, that I was able to find peace despite those in my life who have wounded me. If you don't yet pray the rosary, maybe start there. Pray every day and ask the Blessed Mother to guide you to the relationship with God that your heart desires.

Thank you for sharing your story. I understand what it is like to come from a broken family too, not having a father-figure, and feeling like I was not enough and not measuring up. I remember when I also went on a retreat, but, in college and learned for the first time that Jesus was present in the Eucharist during adoration and experiencing the love of a father. It was an experience I won't forget. It changed my life too. I just felt God tell me that I love you and I loved you even when you felt so much pain and brokenness within you. I still struggle with my worth and feeling like I don't measure up sometimes, but I am starting to realize that I already am enough and I don't have to strive or keep trying to define myself and my worth by what I do or don't do because I am already loved. You are really inspiring. I really look up to you as a Godly woman and I want to be like this one day. God Bless:)

In your case you had a hunger for fatherly love, because of the divorce of your parents. We both share the same passion for the love for and from Abba our Father, the first time I felt this overwhelming amazing love between us was when I was a teenager when I started reading the Bible and I reached the part where God gave us the rainbow after the 40 day flood in Genesis 9:15 God said to Noah "I will recall the covenant I have made between me and you and all living beings, so that the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all mortal beings". I was so overwhelmed with God's love for us that at that moment I decided to do something for God in return, i gave up my favourite dish and till date have not eaten it. The bond that we share only grows stronger. A week before Christmas 2021, God proved to me in a very powerful way that he was at my right side, just 3 days after I began reading Psalm 121, if it was not for Abba , i would have been in a car accident. Psalm 121 came alive to me that day. I hope one day I have the courage to share my testimonies about Jesus and Mary too.

As a former Catholic, I would urge you to delve deeply into the Bible from start to finish. Doing so really opened my eyes to some of the doctrinal errors of the Catholic church. That aside, the truth is that we are sinners, deeply flawed, and that we are not enough which is why we need saving (from the fruits of sin, the death/wrath/separation from God that it brings). This is why God gave His son, Jesus Christ, as the perfect sacrifice for the sake of delivering us from the consequence of our sins, Romans 5:10, Ephesians 1:7. The best way to get close to God, is first by faith which involves hearing the gospel and believing it--included in belief, of course, is repentance, a changing of our minds about sin and turning from the desire to sin. And then to study His Word and learn more of who God is. You seem like a lovely lady with a genuine desire to do what is right. I pray my response is not received as snide in any way, I just had to share this and encourage you to dig deep and ask questions. With a Bible in tow, here is a place to start www.gotquestions.org/Roman-Catholicism.html. I do hope you'll check it out. Thank you for reading.

I’m so sorry to hear that you left the one true faith! I have dived deep into the Bible(which is a Catholic book written by the first Catholic’s🥰) and the more I understand and read it the more I realize how awesome the Catholic faith is! A lot of people miss guide and lead people out of the faith that Jesus Christ started, it quite sad. Here are the reasons I would never leave the Catholic faith kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6abY3qdo6ethpI

@@ACatholicMomsLife Thank you for reading and for your prompt response :) I am not intending to debate. I do want to clarify some things for whoever may stumble upon our comment thread so that a lack of response on my part is not conveyed as an agreement with your statements-- Catholicism was not started by Jesus Christ...a look through the New Testament will support this as there is nowhere mentioned the papacy, worship/adoration of Mary, her immaculate conception, or perpetual virginity (she had other children with Joseph), petitioning saints in heaven for prayer, purgatory, the idea of church tradition being of the same authority as scripture, and many other practices of the Roman Catholic church. I will keep you in my prayers. Edited to add: Also, the Bible is not a Catholic book written by the first Catholic's. In the very least, the aforementioned would have been included and those ideas would not require supplementation outside of scripture.

@@KrystalMlem Peace be with you.. Sorry but you are misled and have misinformation about the Catholic church. It is the one true church Jesus established on earth. That gotquestion website is actually calvinist reform protestant. calvinist doctrine TULIP is actual heresies. Mary is the mother of Jesus, Jesus is God, Mary is the mother of God (Theotokos) Greek bible "God bearer". Mary is also sinless, as Good cannot come from Sin, God predestined this according to his Eternal Will). No bible passage said Mary sinned, also that Mary gave birth to Jesus siblings, you would think such event would be recorded in the Gospels? Mary is also in heaven as mentioned in the book of Revelation Furthermore.. reading your comments, I feel I should chime in. I will be happy to send you bible passages that refute "Faith alone", TULIP, calvinist, arminist, molinist etc.. Unfortunately all the anti Catholic posts on YT, Discord forums etc, are posting same lies and misunderstanding regurgitated over and over again. My suggestion pray for Holy Spirit guidance, read the bible, Septuagint, Torah, Deuterocanonical books, etc also study the early church fathers and history and you will realize the reform protestant from 1500-1600 actually taught several heresies, they disguise "sola scriptura" but with some truths, they sprinkle heretical teachings as well. Reform prots especially Calvinist always attack the Catholic church, but rest assured as Jesus promised some 2000 years ago, the "Gates of hades will not prevail.." We can disagree as I talked with some other reform protestants and some agreed to review and consider, while others are so set in their ways..I suggest you get educated and read the bible without the reformed protestant lens. And also my advice, do not post or spread anti catholic hate, your source gotquestion.org, is very sketchy, if you read a verse they quote, I suggest you look it up with a real bible KJV, or something earlier..

Wow love your testimony! I’m a 19 year old girl and i was such a different person before he changed me a couple months ago. Now he’s my full focus. I was raised Catholic and I’ve always gone to church my mom had always prayed the rosary to me even to put me to sleep when I was smaller and even today we do it every night. I felt that same way when I realized who he was I fell in love with God. I had an encounter with Jesus himself as I was praying a couple months ago I think in April. It was so overwhelming it was just so out of this world it’s just so overwhelming I was crying and crying of joy and praising him. Before this had happened I was sinning and doing whatever I wanted and just going with what others were doing. I had always thought it was just rules and didn’t want to fully follow the “rules” of the church. And before that night that I had the encounter with Christ I had been for over a year starting to pray every night for over a year after my confirmation. But I had started this year praying every morning before getting up and before going to bed and one rosary before bed with my family. Ever since that encounter it all made sense. I no longer wanted to sin, I instantly surrendered to Jesus. Now it’s been months since then and I read the Bible everyday, I’m learning more and more everyday by reading the catechism of the Catholic Church and reading on saints and just watching accession presents and gabiafterhours channels. Ive has many more things happen with dreams, visions and whispers from God. I pray personal prayer 2-3 times a day and now the rosary 3 times by myself throughout the day and one rosary with all of my family. I feel even God is calling me to consecrated life. it’s amazing what God does. He is amazing and deserves all praise and more. Thanks for these videos, I love your videos! God bless you and all who read this! ❤️

It sounds like you're experiencing God's grace. I think they're called consolations, and God gives them to people who are new converts or wanting a deeper relationship with Him. It's kind of like a spiritual high but like any high it doesn't last forever. God grants the consolations to let you know that He's there and to draw you closer to Him. But there comes a time when He pulls away to see if you will stand on your own and still pursue Him. Fr. Mike talks about this in his spiritual dryness and finding God in the darkness videos. Just remember not to feel discourage and fall away when the good feeling, the spiritual high, stops though. Keep pressing forward.

Just hearing your testimony I can tell how sweet you are. You were very bold to share such a vulnerable part of your life on KZbin and I say kudos to you! I'm not Catholic but this popped up on my suggestions. I've never heard of a Catholic testimony but my best friend has shared with me her testimony of coming out of Catholicism (that's the most I've ever heard about Catholicism). May the Lord God, the One who is Faithful and True, our Lord Jesus Christ continue to give you the boldness, wisdom and encouragement needed to be spread the good news and be apart of the Great Commission. This prayer is for all who want it. May God bless you and Jesus loves you! 🥰✝︎

Dear Carolina You lost your father so recently. Its normal to still be crying a lot. When my father died it took a long time to process the grief. His birthdays, fathers day, holidays --- all were extremely hard for several years. I grieved him deeply because I loved him deeply. Each of us has a different timetable with grief. There isn't a timeline. Just be honest with your own feelings. I am very sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy to you.

Heather I just started watching your videos within the last week or so. I'm the mother of 4 grown children. You are such an inspiration. Truly. I'm in my late 50's and I'm making every attempt to grow in my own Catholic faith. You are showing such discipleship. If you ever have days where you feel discouraged by any negative feedback (which is unimaginable to me), know......that you have changed and inspired many lives with the generous sharing of your faith. Blessings to you as you continue your faith journey.

Non- Catholic churches are keeping souls away from Christ. He is present only in the true, holy Catholic Church. Non-Catholic ministers cannot bring Him down to the altars. Only a Catholic priest can do this. Protestants use His words but they don't follow Him.

There is a situation in the Catholic Church called ANULLMENT. After an ANULLMENT a person is permitted to marry. Its complicated. But it does happen. I think Catholic Answers has done quite a bit of speaking on this subject. You can probably find it on video or podcast.

People can get remarried if they get an annulment. An annulment procedure discerns whether a marriage was valid or not. If the prior marriage was not performed validly because of an underlying situation, then you are able to marry.

Hi heather I liked your testimony. Because since little being 5yrs old. I've seen the creator of the world. Our Heavenly father. Who said to me that he created me. I am your father in heaven who loves you. that he had big plans for me on earth. I fell in love with our heavenly father. Since little I felt like heaven was my home too. A place of peace with that beautiful blue sky exists. I had loved the rosary grandma would pray I would pray with her because since that early age I knew God house was the church that he could hear me. I fell in love with mother Mary and Jesus. I always wanted to served them. Helping youths follow God's love. His love transforms lives. Brings happiness to your every day living. Love the rosary I feel the connection with mother Mary and Jesus. It helps me meditate and it feels I can touch other people's soul by praying for them with God's love.🙏🤲😇.

Hi Heather, this is such a beautiful testimony... I'm a Protestant, but this is not the most important detail here because I believe that what really unites us as believers regardless of denominations, Catholics or Protestants, is the love of God for us, our love for Him, and our common belief in Jesus-Christ and His atoning work. I recognize myself a lot in your testimony, I grew up fatherless, and when God revealed His love to me and I understood that I have my Heavenly Father who has always been watching over me, it changed my life completely. Our denominations might disagree on many things, you and me surely have some different beliefs on certain aspects of the faith, but for me you are a sister in Christ, I can't deny God's love for you, and we can see that your love for Jesus is genuine. This is sufficient to unite us in the body of Christ. God bless you!

Hello Heather and friends! Recently I found a booklet "God the Father Speaks to His Children", mystical revaluations from God the Father through Mother Eugenia, from 1932. Before reading it, I thought God wanted me to relate to Him as Jesus Christ. Now I understand the Trinity better and who the Father is. I saw KZbin has videos about these beautiful messages where God the Father explains Him self and His relationship with us

Everything Catholic's believe is biblical some people like Protestants actually don't understand or were tough incorrectly about our beliefs. The bible is a Catholic book so of course we let God's inspiring truth lead us though the bible:). All Christians where Catholic until the Martin Luther in the 1600's so yep we are very biblical:)

@@ACatholicMomsLife No, it isn't. Who cares about Protestants? The Bible is a UNIVERSAL book. The word catholic means universal but the word was warped by Rome to mean something contradictory towards the Bible. You obviously have not read the Bible because Catholicism fails on many of its truths.

What a beautiful testimony, Heather! I experienced something similar. I grew up without my father and growing up, I resented him for not being there for me. However, one day during confession, God spoke to me through the priest and He told me how much value I have as a person and that He loves me, that I am His little one and that He loves me like no one ever could. I felt God's love so deeply that day. I feel like crying as I am writing this because I can't help but think how good Our Heavenly Father is. I am now 25 years old and God has blessed me with my husband, who loves me unconditionally. God's love shines through him. May Jesus and Mary bless you and your family, as well as anyone reading this. How lucky we are to have such a Loving Father in Heaven. 💕
