As the Omaha, Nebraska native I am pulling for FSU and Clemson to the B1G for good football and baseball to rival the SEC in the CWS. Early Spring Baseball in Florida, South Carolina, and California would benefit B1G baseball as a whole so much! After studying everything on conference realignment I do believe the importance of academics, conferences footprint and market size are all taking a backseat to quality programs with lots of dollars and eyeballs regardless of location either near or far from the competition. Case in point Georgia Tech and Boston College aren’t moving many needles for their location and the SEC would be foolish to completely ignore FSU and Clemson already in the footprint. Big brands and big games each and every week will get the money rolling! I do believe UNC is the lynch pin that if not played right could bring some of the Network, SEC, and B1G plans to a screeching halt and I will tell you why. I know you said the SEC wants UNC, but they only have 21 varsity sports where the B1G has all 28 varsity sports UNC currently competes in. Mix that in with how the North Carolina board wants to tie them in partnership to NC State. I think there is some leverage the networks and conferences have, but when that goes against long standing tradition and government it might not be enough to just push a school or pair of schools right into the SEC that don’t fit with ease. My thoughts are having a tough time thinking the SEC would let the B1G come in and just take all 3 of the FSU, Clemson, UNC and be happy to add from the left over ACC schools.

I sure hope it’s the BIG. No schedule in the BIG could be a tough as the gauntlet UF will face this year in the SEC. The Longhorns also have a very tough schedule.
Some points... first, I think this was a coordinated effort by Clemson and FSU once they realized the truth about the nefarious dealings that happened behind the backs of the member schools. FSU were the Marines conducting the frontal assaults with the amphibious invasion and getting the attention of the guns and indirect fires while Clemson planned the more deliberate and coordinated and sustained attacks. That way FSU can regroup, get resupplied and press those attacks. Second, going to the Big 12 for Clemson and FSU is a lateral move AT BEST. We both, along with UNC and ND and maybe even Miami will move to the B1G or SEC. People over inflate the requirement of AAU membership for entry into the B1G, while they do PREFER it, it isn't a requirement to join. The only way I see FSU or Clemson going to the SEC over the B1G is if Sankey just flat out tells ESPN to make it happen. The ACC WILL be regulated to a G5 conference or collapse all together, inertia is real and they did it to themselves. Last, Clemson and FSU should absolutely stay together on this. Since the game in 1988, this has grown into one of the best rivalries in the college football. The Bowden Bowl era built it up even more, then after the "Lost Decade" with the BO's coming to power...that's Jimbo and Dabo...MOONSHINE was poured on that fire. It's a solid rivalry now and we should both strive to keep it going. JMHO

hope the acc goes away soon, the acc is all about basketball and helping the north carolina schools. the only reason the acc got fsu, miami and pitt, syracuse boston college is because football rules sports and makes all the money, they got the football schools to help support the north carolina basketball schools. they have the head quarters in NC and the ncaa gets the ncaa tourney in their state to help pUKe and the stank heels advance every season.

@@richardbrookins5406 Naw, I don't care much for ESPN or those strange SEC fans who root for a conference. I'm just thinking that since the B1G in my view locked themselves into half shares when they added Wa/Or last year. Now obviously if this is true then ESPN also knows this as well and if half shares is the max the B1G is paying out, why would ESPN offer any more than that? The conferences/media partners will have all the leverage as they did when the PAC broke apart.
@SOGWAP564 ай бұрын
@@troywest7045 Actually, the B1G with new shares next season is nearly $100 million, not the $70 million being thrown about. In fact, the B1G is handing out this years right about $82 to $84 million per school. The B1G's media deal with these added schools and an eventual 10 game conference schedule has been hinted to reach $125 to $135 million the next go around.

All those years the acc carried Clemson. It's not about the acc, it's all about money for Clemson and fs. You signed a contract you didn't read so pay the money 500 million and go the hell on and take fs with you. Lol, you would take the lil 12 over the acc making a whopping 33 mil a year. You lost your mind. If the acc is so bad, why would did you signed the contract, without reading. Remember contracts are binding and there no way out without paying. Just setup a payment plan. Since espn paid the sec and fox, cbs and nbc paid big10 lots of money, you guys been jealous and envy. You had no problem till then. No judge can over turn a binding contract. I dont think sec or big 10 want neither team. Especially after see the problems you causing in the acc about money.

The Big 10 only invites AAU schools. Clemson and FSU getting into the Big 10 is not going to happen. As far as the SEC that is a possibility, however, the idea that ESPN would "force" the SEC is comical. How would they force them? ESPN could provide an incentive to the SEC but I am not sure what that could be. Is ESPN going to increase the payout per school just to add Clemson and FSU. Unlikely. Unfortunately, Virginia and North Carolina are in a better spot if the ACC falls apart. They are both AAU members and they both allow the Big 10 and SEC to expand their footprint. I would suggest Miami, Florida State and Clemson forming a new conference by pulling some teams from the Big 12 and the ACC. Only pull together teams that can draw TV Viewers. The weakness of the SEC and BIG 10 are with the big names schools there are some duds like Indiana, Vanderbilt and Rutgers. Or just package Florida State and Clemson together.

This is why FSU and Clemson' s arguments are so bogus and wouldn't hold in an unbiased court. AT the end, he praises the very entity screwing the ACC behind the scenes, and declares that "the network" should be the decider, not the individual schools of a conference...Smells like collusion and tampering to me.
