ACC LFM Daily Race @ Kyalami | Pushing The Limits Of My Ability w/ A Basic Sim Setup !

Penultimate race of the week at Kyalami in Low Fuel Motorsport dailies in the Porsche 992 GT3 R. Since I was lapping in the low 41s, I badly wanted to lap in the 40s, which I actually reached but I was struggling in the last corner for some reason. If you ask me, I think I've maxed out the potential with the basic belt driven wheel & potentiometer pedals. I can feel it while driving that there's not much I can do. If I have to enhance my pace, I have to feel the tarmac & the braking force to maximize my trail braking technique. This can be achieved only if I'm driving with a DD Wheel & load cell pedals. And another aspect to the slower times would be the TC. If I have to stay competitive in split 1, I have to drive with 1 & 2 TC & should not be going beyond that. What do you think of this ? Let me know..

some fast drivers out there with belt drives mate including you but yes a decent dd nm at 12 and above and good pedals are a game changer with regards to feel and consistency...the question is will you be faster and if so, how long will it take...anyway, you did yourself proud that race...there's always going to be someone faster than u, especially in split 1 ❤

I second everything you said 🙌🙌 12nm & a decent load cell pedals seem to be the right upgrade. 8nm DD was prime in the last few years. Now 12 is the starting point. The adaptability is also a crucial factor. I was looking at a few videos of sim setup upgrade guides & what not to do. In one of Dave cam’s video, he mentioned just the pedals got him to 4k irating from 1.5k. That’s also very subjective to individual’s driving style. Thanks a ton mate ❤️ I have really pushed the limits of my setup in the last year or so. A lot of factors are to be considered when investing into these upgrades. I’ll make a small video once I decide what to upgrade first. Can’t be breaking the bank on these peripherals 😅

@@SlicksandSlipstream i had 8nm dd as my upgrade from belt and at the beginning it felt great but became obvious there were too many points of zero feeling

Glad to know these, since it helps me in figuring out what's the best investment going further 🙌 10, 12 & 16 seem to be the sweet spot & I'm hoping this will be a very long term investment since I cannot look back after spending it on the upgrades. Just focusing on maximizing the value for money especially for a hobby.

@@SlicksandSlipstream lots of good value out there comparible to fanatec tech mate, even their v3 pedals are like the 1st step up into loadcell while others offer same tech with fantastic value

@@natsamami True... Been checking out the forums & some reviews in the last few days. Fanatec is falling off real bad. Also, I've read a lot of complaints with customer support from Fanatec.

Unfortunately in Sim Racing if you want to be up there with the quickest guys you need to invest in your setup. My little G923 is melting just trying to hold on for 15th place every race😂

Haha… it’s melting here as well after split 1 races 😂😂 The whole base will be super hot & I’ll have to actually give a small break to the wheel before moving to the next one. I would love to upgrade the setup, but I’ll have to decide carefully & not break the bank. Not so long ago I spec’d Simagic’s ecosystem & an aluminium frame for the rig. The total came up to somewhere $2,300 😶

How many hours have you on acc? Does LFM a good alternative to iracing?

Total 1000 hours. I’ve been playing ACC since console days (Xbox one and series x). 500hours on Xbox & 500 hours on PC. Honestly, I’ve never played iRacing so I’m not sure what they offer for daily races.
