Sir I have a question. In prepaid expenses if we DR Prepaid expenses (Assets) and CR Insurance Expenses. Then credited Insurance expenses will reduce the cumulative balance of insurance expenses during a particular period. So it not give actual insurance expenses amount in the trial balance.

We only have to see accrued and prepaid on the closing date. Simple logic, closing date pe books finalise hoti hain and we see ki kya kuch amount accrued ya prepaid hai. If yes then we consider it. Saal ke beech main kya hota hai uska relevance nai hai

Sir I have a confusion accrud expenses & income prepared expenses & incomes yau sirf yearly based hti ha example hamaray year-end ha 1st Jan to 31dec agar ma janvary ma first 6 months ka rent pay krta hu mean Jan to June la rent pay krta hu to kia yau prepaid expense nai ha and agar mai ha to is ki journal entry kia hu ge on the other hand agar ma year end 31st December ko next year ki koi payment krta hu is ki journal entry kia hu ge ist case ma b to ham na advance payment ki the to kia wo prepayment nai ha

bro normal entry hogi rent a/c dr to cash a/c because p/p entry is for the next year, ok as i said current year ka expense pehle pay krna is not p/p but next year ka karna is the p/p expense😇😇

accounts payable is the creditor pf company while accrued expenses also covers the services recieved but not pais for that service like rent paid or recieved 😇😇

Sir prepaid entry confuse me If we paid rent in advance Then Dr.Prepaid rent and Cr.Bank And next year i will Dr.Rent Expense and Dr.Prepaid Rent This should be correct entry i believe

Your second entry is absolutely right but First one isn't. The logic is half correct. When you pay rent, you do Dr rent Cr bank. In case of prepaid rent, we come to know that rent paid includes prepaid. That is why we have to take that amount back from our expenses and we do entry Dr Prepaid rent Cr Rent. Dr Rent Cr cash has already been done.

@@KhalidHussain-lb9nc we are dr.ing p/p expense as this entry represents assets for the business, and when the next year treatment of entry is done like asset decreases and expenses incurred, that's why we dr pp and cr expenses to show the asset in the balance sheet of the current yr and expenses that is of next year
