The term CHARTERED means, based on a Charter, that charter is applicable within a country only. A Professional accountant under a regulation of such Chartered Body is called a CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT. Main difference between CA & ACCA is CA is more suitable within a country, but ACCA is designed for entire world. Companies incorporated in countries having no Professional Accounting Body regulated by that Country's Charter, will prefer global professionals such as ACCA/ CPA. Companies incorporated in a country like India will prefer a CA for some engagements which reserved only for Indian CAs, others cant do. Those who want to settle anywhere outside India can prefer globally accepted courses such as ACCA/ CPA/ CMA etc. those who plans to settle in their home country can prefer Constitution based courses. A person qualified from ACCA can designate himself as CHARTERED CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANT which means ACCA body is approved not only by the Royal Charter of UK but also globally acceptable except Country specified engagements which is notified only for CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS.

Hi hope your well. I am just finishing my uni degree in accounting and finance. I have only realised now that I don't get exemptions from Acca and get 9 exemptions from acca and some from cima. I am not wanting it into management accounting so I would assume I wouldn't pick CIMA, and I am moving towards acca. I was just wondering any ideas of how long it would usually take to do the aca exams that usually students get exemptions for when leaving uni? And in my case does it make sense just to continue With the acca qualifications to become charted? Thank you

As a qualified CA , you can use your articleship as your PER. However, you need to consult with your Principal and make him sign off the PER objectives

Cma usa is world class qualification and its knowledge and test level is more then acca ! ..... ALSO ACCA is not even near CA , i was once in acca but i.left and start icaew ! Its same like dentist vs doctor ! ....... Cma usa is class if u pursue it u will bave advantage over other candidates in gulf states

@@CoolWithTyb91 If this is the quality of your English - trust me ( and also remember me for saying this!)you will have a real uphill battle passing ICAEW exams- if you are truly doing it as you claim . Cos unlike ACCA /CIMA it is very hard to get away with LUCID English with ICAEW - ICAEW heavily penalizes for poor quality English . It is very unfortunate that people like you and me not having native English language skills facing this with ICAEW - but that is the HARSH reality- even if you happen to make your way somehow in the technical papers , final will be a big ask with language skills playing a big role.
