Duke vs. Wake Forest Condensed Game | 2019-20 ACC Men's Basketball

Duke vs. Wake Forest: The Demon Deacons trailed by 12 in the second half but found a way to come back and defeat the 7th ranked Blue Devils 113-101 in double overtime. Wake Forest ended and 11-game losing streak to Duke with this win. Brandon Childress scored all of his 17 points in the final moments of regulation and in the overtimes. Olivier Sarr had a team-high 25 points for Wake Forest and Chaundee Brown added 24 points and 9 rebounds. For Duke, Wendell Moore Jr. led the Blue Devils with 25 points, and Tre Jones had 24 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds.

Everyone is so quick to pass judgment and if u truly paid attention you'd see that when Duke brings it defensively they r a legit club! They've had those moments more than a percentage of the time, but last night was a prime example of the fact Duke doesn't bring it (defense) consistently enough! Too many one and dones who aren't serious enough on the defensive end

There is inexcusable and then there was Duke tonight redefining it, giving up a ridiculous 113 points! I think Duke figures it's just ok to turn off your game and then turn it back on because lately they seem to be going back and forth in that mode! And once again, Duke's main weakness over the past few seasons rears its ugly head - inconsistency on the defensive end of the floor! It's obvious with alot of these one and dones where defense holds little to no meaning! Coach K used to preach the importance of defense and it wouldn't take long for the players of old to buy into bringing the intensity! Even with lapses, slapping of the floor would equal ratcheting it up! When your consistently letting an 11-15 team that u beat by 32 a little more than a month ago beat u to the basket regularly and display more intensity, that is great cause for concern especially if that's something your having to correct this late in the season! The 2015 team showed what defense can do when it made the difference in them winning the national championship! But it's all about everybody collectively and consistently doing that for the majority of 40 minutes! If this team doesn't quickly amend the on-off light switch mentality they've displayed recently, our March Madness stay will be, to say the least, short-lived!

A 4-12 team beat y’all in late February. All excuses aside. That’s not good. And furthermore if this duke team isn’t on their home court in their pampered environment they also are not good. Duke will not win the ACC tournament, they will probably be a 4 seed come tournament time and I see them falling in the round of 32. He has completely lost making team defense a consistent priority! Not just a game here and a game there! Along with the fact he's not getting guys anymore who wanna defend other than when they feel up to it! Too many one and dones now who care only about honing their offensive skill set and in a hurry to go pro where that game fits! The NBA is an offense driven league and that hand dealt to Coach K has greatly affected his approach as each season comes and goes

Teams that blow 9 point leads with 81 seconds left aren’t winning the national championship. Duke chokes in the tournament 9 times out 10 anyway. Just look at their results compared to UNC’s in the tournament over the past 5 years, and going back even further.

More often than not Duke is terrible offensively and plays stagnant, iso heavy isolation sets trying to rely on their more talented guys to win one on one. It's bad basketball that's why they keep getting knocked out by less talented but smarter teams.
