The inconsistency with the track layout from the internal view of Vert's car when he says, "I'm going for the record, fastest time ever!" (basically a straight path to the portal) to the next scene (a tight corner where he'd hydroplane that came out of fucking nowhere) will always bother me. The only reason he didn't win was because of the plot of him being a terrible driver. Ugh.

Yeah, they tend to rewind tracks and place drivers to make it look longer. This is highly noticeable at the Cliffside realm. I think of it at that last water puddle he slipped on that and missed the portal.

Keep in mind that Vert still had the mindset that he was the best driver through the realms up til he stopped using power rage, Californian vibe side - doesn't practice much after being recognized as top dog (and no I'm not stereotyping, I'm from S.Cali).
