It will encourage them to work on their own cars, or at least give them a start and save them money. The K12 is a great first car. Access to those bolts looks so easy on LHD, on RHD it is a pain! My micra was sometimes throwing APP errors with check engine light, then going to limp mode. If someone has the same problem, before buying new part, try to unplug the connector, clean the contacts, then plug it in and make sure it's plugged in really well. I did that and it works well for a year or two now.

I've just got a 2006 K12 auto for my daughter who's just turned 17. The accelerator pedal is really sensitive for the first part of the travel and it will lurch forward quite quickly if you're not careful. I know autos will creep forward anyway, so need to control this using the brake pedal, but does it sound normal for this rapid acceleration at first touch of the accelerator pedal to happen? Or could this be a position sensor or throttle body issue?

I've heard people say that's common with certain small japanese cars and it's just something you have to get used to. I haven't worked on an automatic transmission version so I couldn't say whether it's anything to do with that or just the throttle response.

It is not normal. My micra was doing the same after sitting for years without a battery. The ECU needs to relearn idle air with the idle air calibration procedure

@@screwsnutsandbolts thank you for reply. The sound is like knocking two iron plates touching the ruff road. That sounds like it came from the dashboard. And can feel in steering.
