It's per Month...when you earn in lakhs per month you pay 30% tax

how can someone pay 39 thousand as income tax for 1 month by default you are in either in old or new tax regime and why would someone not save tax and just give it back to govt? something is fishy or very wrong

when someone declare investement but proof is not given in month of jan/feb then company deduct tax in month of feb/march. thatswhy it is so much.

all depends on HRA, PF, etc. Someone can get 75k(ppf amount deducted) in hand with old regime and 77k in hand with new regime.
