McDonald's food is cold because it takes them 5 minutes to triple bag, they shove it on a cold bench with dozens of other orders, and then they lecture the driver about zipping their bag up even though he/she has just placed the food and drinks next to each other. I once delivered tea and ice cream which was 'security' sealed together in a drinks bag...

One thing I've always wondered about - I wonder how the supermarket car parks deal with people who are doing deliveries? After all, it isn't unheard of for people to get penalty charges for visiting a place twice in a day (sometimes legitimately, sometimes not), whereas if you're collecting an order, for all intents and purposes, I'd count that as being directly invited to site...
@autohustles4 ай бұрын
Luckily around my area, none of the supermarkets have restrictions of returning within a certain time - but you're right, something to watch out for.

Taking £3/4 orders that will be completed in 10-20 minutes meaning 3-6 an hour = between £9 and £24. Luck plays a part but even getting grocery orders that are waiting to be collected, as opposed to McDonald's that are normally 5+ minutes wait as a given, shows the grind couriers have.

Always does confuse me why you won't multi-app... Is that just by choice of satisfying the customer? As it is actually stated in the contracts that it is allowed to multi-app and pickup from other apps during, although its a bit of a grey area as both say you must prioritise one over the other, which then conflicts; but generally speaking if they both go to the same street or generally a within a couple streets apart, then there wouldn't be any issue
@autohustles4 ай бұрын
You're right, it's a grey area. I have in the past done it, when delivery locations are very close. My main focus is making sure my customers are happy so they use the services I work for again and again. In the long term, creating more happy customers is more important as they provide the repeated jobs in the future.
@connectedtexture4 ай бұрын
@@autohustles That is very true. Did you know Uber actually has an algorithm that matches you to repeat customers if they leave you a good review. So you are totally correct in saying keeping them happy to repeat use of the service, is probably more beneficial in the long term

So I pay about £150 a month with Zego 30-day insurance. For the purposes of my expenses calculations, I deduct £60, as that's what my old SD&P cost me and the £150 a month with Zego includes SD&P. That leaves £90 a month for deliveries. I work 45 hours a week on average. So that equals 50p an hour. Although this is all changing now as Zego increased my cost by like 25% so I'm switching insurance very soon. Will explain more in future videos!

Depends on the prep time set by the restaurant on their tablet. Most places set it to 10-15 minutes. They can also trigger 'busy' mode which gives them more time to prepare orders before a driver arrives. I know Deliveroo use a lot of machine learning and AI to learn the exact time restaurants take to prepare certain meals and use that information when assigning drivers. Ultimately, the apps try to get us there at the same time the order is due to be ready.
