Wonderful project! I'd be very interested in seeing the process of building the weirs. You've really piqued my interest as a forest steward in how this process can be paired with watershed forestry practices. I'm wondering if this could be scaled way down to accomplish a similar effect on smaller tidal ditches that are common on the lower shore.

Thank you for your comment - the Md DNR developed a construction manual that specifically goes through the construction process for building this type of process-based stream restoration technique called Regernative Stream Conveyance or (RSC). This technique is approved in our Chesapeake Bay Model - that tracks Chesapeake Bay cleanup efforts. This link takes you to the material that was shared for a training we led on this topic a few years ago. dnr.maryland.gov/ccs/Pages/mdstreamexchange.aspx This is the link to the construction guidance document DNR produced. dnr.maryland.gov/ccs/Documents/RSC_Training/RSC-Guidance.pdf If you would like to tour other RSC project sites feel free to reach out to me and I can help you see a few more of these kinds of projects.

This is great, now if we could remove the Dam down stream!
