Accessing the Smart Storage Administrator and Configuring Drives

A left click on start, type smart storage administrator the application will open on the left hand side you will have your
server your onboard dynamic controller and you're smarter a p8 40 click configure on the left hand side now you'll have your controller logical devices or we have our operating system logical drive physical devices and unassigned drives go ahead and click on
the controller create array under the actions we're going to select three drives to create a raid 5, everything else will remain default and create logical Drive. We're going to finish, currently the system is going to be initializing the parity the system is fully usable until this is complete but may run at a degraded state. Go ahead and close out of the smart storage administrator I'm going to right
click on Start and bring up Disk Management. Here you have to bring the drive into the operating system I'm going to right-click on the disc, I'm going to bring it online right click to initialize the disc for all archiving purposes the format will be GPT. Go ahead and right-click on the volume you're going to create a new simple
volume, go ahead select next full storage unless you're going to split up the storage. Click next you're gonna assign your letter in this case we're gonna leave it as F. We're going to delete the volume label and hit next and finish.The system will format and then bring the disk online that is how you create a raid.
