I know he was wanted for murder and wouldn't have been safe in the real world, but when Eddie was with Steve, Nancy and Robin in the upside-down I really did start to think he was gonna be a new addition to the gang. Had no idea the writers based his character off of Damien Echols. Yet Eddie Munson strongly resembled many guys I went to highschool with that typed themselves as "metal-heads". Funny thing, a lot of people listened to Metallica or Megadeath irregardless of titled-cliches. In the spirit of those times of late 80's, it definitely brought back those themes from that time. His character was boisterous & perfunctory of hilarity as pretty much like quite a few characters around me at that same period of time.

In the series, He actually died in past. Nancy said that they were in the past when she was trying to find her gun. So, basically, if they want, they can bring him alive. So, there is hope. I really want him in season 5.

Aw, Joseph Quinn seems like such a sweetheart. Really happy that he got to portray such a great character in the show. Seeing Eddie die was heartbreaking, because of how Joseph delivered every line. It was amazing, acting-wise, but also so damn sad. I miss Eddie dearly, I know, already, because he really grew on me as a character and I definitely count him to be one of my favourites. i know eddie’s death was for development, so he “didn’t run away” from his problems, but it still feels so unnecessary. i feel like they could’ve accomplished the same thing by just having him get injured, like steve. one thing i really disliked about volume 2, personally, was the two day time skip. the only people who acknowledged eddie’s death were dustin, and mr. munson. other than them, no one else had anything to say, which seemed kind of weird. it’s especially odd that there were no scenes of eddie’s body, what they did with it, or even just steve checking in on dustin. i just don’t like that he died, and his death was glossed over. to conclude, eddie deserved a lot more, and shouldnt have had to die for nothing.

Agree. It felt absolutely unnecessary to me. I get what they were going for, but I think they screwed the pooch. He sacrificed himself for, like, 5-10 minutes of extra time, the others were already inside the house anyway, I don't think it changed anything! And he actually put Dustin at risk with that (though involuntarily). I wish they'd at least did it differently. He could've die saving Dustin, for example, now that'd make total sense and would be way more powerful. I wasn't even sad when he died, I was just royally pissed.

Stranger Things is my favorite TV Show since Buffy The Vampire Slayer. One thing I’ve noticed is that the characters who die tend to be new season introductions, and they ALL end up being massive fan favorites. Barb had people in Boston MA literally holding vigils. Hundreds of thousands of people RSVPd for the event, and it actually had a strong turn out ( I’d say 100 people or so ). Barb was incredible. Now, that all being said - what I’d like to see is these fan favorites that we lost too soon - RETURN. They can be a part of Vecna’s army and it would be psychological warfare. Imagine Nancy having to face an angry Barb ? Joyce coming face to face with BOB again, after her and Hopper have become official. How bout Dustin having to put down an Upside Down version of Eddie ? I hope that idea comes to life in Season 5, someone tag Netflix and the Duffer Brothers.

As a massive D&D fan prior to Stanger Things, Eddie was the best character in the show, by far. I'd be okay with him dying given the great arc they gave him and the seriousness of Vecna and the upside down as a lethal threat, but the way he died sucks. He seriously died for nothing, he didn't even really need to buy more time. Worst of all is only the kids and his uncle know what a good soul he truly was, and he's a devil in the eyes of Hawkins. I honestly hope they do bring him back. Dustin didn't check his pulse but he did look in pretty bad shape, the only reason steve survived the attack is because the rest of the gang were helping him to fight them off... however I do find it interesting that Dustin and the gang would just leave Eddie's body in the upside down instead of taking him back and giving him a proper burial, I wonder what happened to it if they just left it there. I honestly hope the Duffers do hear us out and bring him back somehow idc how, because his death was so unnecessary and senseless.

That was the most heartbreaking scene when he died. He bonded so well with Dustin and Dustin did him justice when he spoke to his uncle. I cried so hard. i think you're thinking of when they confirmed steve wouldn't die of the bites getting infected after the dive. Eddie got really messed up and died of shock and blood loss, not an infection. I'd love for either of these to happen but I'd settle even with Dustin having like just visions of him and that.

I'd watched all the season, but never rewatched or was a true fan. Eddie became my exception; he is absolutely my favorite character and now among the ranks of my top tier comfort characters. The whole lack of a reaction from the characters felt lazy, like we were cheated by a rushed prologue. Thay's my only complaint. The rest of his arc, I must agree, was beautiful. It was brief?
