Charlize Theron Raves Over Jason Momoa's 'Fearless' Acting In 'Fast X'

Charlize Theron was impressed by Jason Momoa's work in "Fast X"! "The dude just commits like no one I've ever seen, like fearless in the sense that he can be dramatic, but he leans into it … and just fully commits," she told Access Hollywood producer and guest correspondent Emily Orozco of sharing a scene with the "Game of Thrones" alum. "It's not like half-commit, a little scared. Sometimes I'm like, 'Woah, you really did it! You went all the way!'" Charlize and her co-stars Michelle Rodriguez and Brie Larson also opened up about taking up space as women in Hollywood and portraying powerful female characters. "Fast X" hits theaters May 19.

brie larson stunts interview .... No, it really all came out of ignorance, to be honest. I didn’t realize that you don’t actually do your own, most people don’t do their own stunts in these movies. I thought you did, and I’ve never been a particularly elegant or athletic person. I’m just an introvert with asthma and felt like I needed to be able to do that. I just thought, “I don’t wanna be on set, and they ask me to do things, and I don’t know how to do it.” So I started training as soon as I could, which was right after I wrapped, so it basically started right as I wrapped picture, I locked picture on the film that I directed. I then went into that, which then turned into nine months of training. And nine months of just training-training, and three months of stunt training with the stunt team. We spent two hours every day, five days a week. And it wasn’t until … everyone just went along with it, and was like, “Cool.” It wasn’t until we started shooting, and I started doing all my own wire work stunts, and flips and stuff that people were like, “You know nobody, now we’ll tell you, nobody actually does this. We just didn’t want you to stop. But now that you’ve kind of accomplished this thing, we don’t normally do this.” And I was like, huh?

Yes, it is a culture. My brother helped me to learn a few things “ under the hood “, like how to change the oil in my car. ( I had been in massage therapy class and had my sister with me , she was the body I was working on for my assignment that day. Afterwards, we were in my 1988 Ford Taurus , headed back to my place and I gave a signal to the driver in the right lane that I wanted over. I just wanted to get home , alive and safe; and when it’s “Rush Hour “ on this highway , the traffic gets really thick. It’s also easier to take the exit if I’m already in the right “ slower traffic “ lane. However, I noticed that the driver of the car was a guy and he was not letting me over into that lane. My sister said that he looked a lot like Val Kilmer , I told her,” Well, Cat, this is California, he probably IS Val Kilmer; I just want over in that slower lane so I can get the Hell off this road and he ain’t letting me over. Ask him if he has something to write with.” She asked me, “ How do I do that?” “ Just make like you’re writing something, he’ll get the idea.” She did, and I had her give him my phone number. He talk d with David Letterman about the ordeal on the Freeway. He said,” I noticed that the driver was talking with her hands and I thought that was really something. Then, I started looking at her car and noticed that it was an old car and that it wasn’t “ smoking “ from the front or the back of the car. “ David asked him why he didn’t just pull over to side of the road and talk with her about it and ask for her number. He said,” Oh, I got her number while driving.” Dave asked him why he didn’t just pull over any way , that way he could talk to her . That doesn't mean she was lying here. For some parts, they would definitely have to use doubles because of how dangerous it can be (like the glass window) and stunt doubles are trained for that. But, that doesn't mean that they didn't also perform the fight scenes against each other. She didn't say they didn't use stunt doubles, she said it was important for them to fight each other, not doubles. Doesn't mean they weren't using stunt doubles at all, but that they also wanted it to be authentic and do what they could do against each other in that sequence.
