Nicely done, very well explained! There should be another app that works with this, the Eye4, which is better? I don't see why the camera doesn't start to record automatically with Camhi when it detects motion, maybe I am missing setting.

That's strange. There shouldn't be a difference between wired and WiFi connection, but I've never tried wired

Awesome - congrats. I'm new too ;-) I currently don't record on computer because computer would have to run 24/7, but I use the app (Android) and whenever I find an interesting video I click on it and chose 'download' and then sync with google photos app to the 'cloud' ;-)

I have the same camera. After one year of operation, Motion Detection is not working which means the software is recording continuously. There seems to be a problem with the software. After uninstalling the app, the problem has not fone away. At the moment, the retailer is in contact with the manufacturer to see what is the problem. 😕

Footage will be recorded on the memory card. Without you won't be able to record at all or maybe just a few minutes of footage. The larger the card the longer the footage. With my 8 GB I'm recording about 1 day. For a week you need a 64 GB card.

I have dumped this camera because a squirrel bite into the power cable, but as far as I remember I has set it so it would constantly overwrite the oldest footage and so keep always the past 1 or 2 weeks with no maintenance needed

How can you see the files on the sd card on your desktop? Since it uses a strange file format not an AVI format?

The file is just visible in the HiP2P client on Windows as a time-stamp, but not as a real video file. You can play it in the app, but not native on Windows. You could take out the sd card and convert it to mp4 on windows, but it's difficult. The easiest way to save video footage is to use the Android app and download and convert it there. The mp4 converter is integrated into the app.

I just did a test to see if formatting the SD would wipe the recordings and it did , SO I'm assuming they are stored on the SD card , but I cannot see a way of deleting one file that are not needed as most times you want to free up space on the SD card for more usefull recordings. or the other option is to download what you need and format the SD card to free space ??

However while following the steps, I get a "Incorrect password" error before the camera goes to "online" I tried my wifi password and the password that came with the unit, still does not connect. Any suggestions? I am android phone user on a 2.4ghz wifi network. Thanks

@@NiagSam Sorry to hear and unfortunately did totally forget about what to do exactly. If the video doesn't help, then try to reset the cam with long-pressing the reset button and try again. The only thing I really remember is, that the set-up was quite challenging and I also didn't succeed in the first couple of attempts, but finally it worked. BTW: i'm not using this camera any more because one of the power cables broke. Don't have any clue why. Maybe a squirrel ... lol
