Without any knowledge about blacksmithing or making cutting tools (But with experience from machining. I do think a good blacksmith and/or knife maker with a lathe could fix this. These are my amateur thoughts how they might be able to do it (Sorry if I mix up terminology, language barrier and lack of knowledge about this) 1. But put it in a lathe in a four jaw chuck and center it with the help of a dial indicator. 2. Anneal it (soften the steel) 3. Put a hard metal rod in the tool post, something like the chank of end mill or drill bit. 4. Carefully push back the dented areas. 5. Reshape the edge slightly with files and sand paper. 6. Heat treatment process of the cutting area and sharpening. Maybe someone here have better knowledge about this and can give their opinion, but I would guess it's possible to fix this. Or I mean of course, it's possible to fix, even if the edge cracks, it's possible to weld it and reshape the edge. Don't throw it away though :)

A correctly-sized mandrel and heat treatment may be able to fix that, you have to enter blacksmith territory for that though.

Whew! So sad.. This type of tool can no longer be restored or sharpen?
