I don't trust this type of review/note coming from other companies. It's my friends, I so wanted to be wrong, I so wanted this game to deliver a story worthy of Max Caulfild and Chloe Price, a well-made, well-written, well-developed sequel with a good ending, not a ridiculous ending and generic superhero movie, it really pains me to see that they brought her back just to get attention and sell more, because there's no reason to be her in this game, it could be anyone, it's with great pain that I say that Life is Strange It has already given what it had to give and that my beloved franchise suffered a depressing fate from a company that cannot do the least

It's a shame to see you trying to advertise your product in any way you can. The problem is that it doesn't help. 50% of players who were big fans of the first lis already understand why double exposure is a failure. And the remaining 50% are new players who will play and probably forget about this game after a while. The fact is that you destroyed your own game and the potential that was in it with your own hands. The way you treated Chloe the community will never forgive you. And that is the main reason this game failed. It's not that many fans were expecting a happy ending for Chloe and Max, but that from a plot and narrative standpoint, Chloe and Max's breakup makes no sense or logic. D9 could have broken up Chloe and Max's relationship on purpose, and then later on in the story explain why it happened. And build a drama and some kind of moral around it. For example, so that the characters would realize some things. So that there would be some meaning in all of this. But in the end, you just wanted to make money... The funniest thing is that you screwed up here too, because Chloe = money from the studio and publisher's point of view:DDDDDDDDDDDD

And it also wouldn't have made any sense. Technically, if you want to be true to the original game, at this point 10 years later, Chloe would be dead since Max had stopped using her rewind powers, which was the only thing keeping Chloe from dying. This was made very clear in the first game. The timeline constantly corrected itself whenever Max stopped one of Chloe's many deaths. It's why she kept dying in different ways. It wouldn't have stopped just because the main story was over, and since Don't Nod had no intention of making another game, they created the ending as an abrupt, "you fill in what happens" kind of ending.

For me it wasn’t the fact that we didn’t see Chloe. It was the fact that apart from the first two episodes the rest of it felt rushed. I was stupid enough to pay for the early release. So many plot holes my god. What was the point in Detective Alderman? I tried saving him only to never see him again. I have a whole sleeve tattoo of life is strange after playing the first game, it meant that much to me. Now every time I look at it I’m reminded of this shit show of a game.

Worst. Sequel. Ever. It tries so hard to squeeze the life out of the first game. In a choices matter IP, to have the same Max, be in the same place, talking to the same person, with only a dialog option to mark the original and last 10 years, is a really bad look. Deck Nine knows nothing about life changing choice and instead leans heavy into melodrama and superhero shinanigans. This cringy AAA-hole milking of the original is not worth spending any time with. Sadly, you can’t rewind and get it back.

The finale is oddly kinda underwhelming with how somewhat rushed the last two episodes are. I don't like how it's kinda a Safi story in the end, While, ultimately it doesn't exactly all revolve around Max. I was expecting easter eggs from the comics, and Chloe to be pivotal to the plot of the past, but she wasn't really... worse is the supposed alternate reality where you choose to say they fell apart (which I thought would be lying) but is supposed truth. I haven't played it with that choice yet, so I'm curious how Chloe being alive is involved in the story at all, but I doubt it's much more, unfortunately. I was honestly expecting to see an alternate Max and Chloe together, because I assumed this story was Max doing the same mistake of saving a destined to die friend in Safi, but surprisingly it wasn't at all, so the way the storm occurs with a bit of time paradox was weird... Victoria Chase's content was disappointing. Max oddly seems distant to her parents. Uncaring, rather. At one point in the nightmare, she insults Warren... It was great, but there's a fair amount of nitpicks, lackluster, disappointing things, etc. Too many loose ends. Barely telling anything to Loretta like promised. Most choices become meaningless in the end too. 7.5/10. Big fan, but now I want to see Max and Chloe again even more. The comics were an 8/10, even though the convenient circumstance to save the ending was ridiculous. At least Max returning was confirmed. We better get Max and Chloe next. Her lack of involvement in this, as much as she was in, was very disappointing in the end...

NASA's recent (if unconfirmed) discovery in Antarctica of a parallel universe where time runs backwards, could have interesting implications for Max's powers. Like, maybe her powers haven't changed at all. Maybe her rewind power was just her accessing that parallel universe and briefly merging the timeline to move time backward in our time. Two opposing timelines existing in the exact moment simultaneously would make the time storm make more sense too.

Well, I don't know, the story has too many unanswered questions. Spoiler alert: Alderman simply disappeared without ever really finding out why, where did he go, just like that. Max from the first part would have carried out examinations to maybe save him, to bring him back, yes, he was unpleasant, but a person was erased from the world, nobody knows him anymore. In Lis 1, they did everything they could to find Rachel, questions were answered, in Lis double exposure it's like, oh, he's gone, well, bad luck, he never existed. And as for the rest of the game, I had the strong feeling that the decisions you make have no real impact. I did everything I could to make it clear to Vhin that I don't want anything from him, and yet I can still kiss him? I agree! I found it fun, surprising and interesting! I was iffy about it at first, but I enjoyed most of it. I wish they approached writing Chloe out of the story differently. It makes sense to me that they would grow apart romantically, but I wish they remained close friends. I liked majority if the game, except the final chapter. The end was poorly written, and relies too heavily on another game. Most of the writing was INCREDIBLE! Except the ending. The end felt lazy and rushed.

I thought it was gonna be an ending similar to the first game, but after playing through it, the ending feels more like a “part 1” type of ending or “to be continued” also notice how we got an end screen that said “Max Caulfield will return” Maybe they’re going to continue on the story from the point it left off in the bar, or maybe it will be some years after that, who knows. I loved the scenery and especially the music, I think favorite part was in the Turtle Bar with Amanda where they pretended to go to a concert, I just sat there and smiled, especially when Max said the “Shaka Brah” line, it was so wholesome, and really brought back memories from the original game.

I wish people had this passionate negative reaction to LiS Before the Storm. THAT was actually awful. Sure, on second thought, LiS DE biggest plot hole is how the storm was avoided, but that's a sequel... Meanwhile, LiS BtS was a prequel made after the original! And that created plot holes in Rachel's death of how and where it happens. And "The Great Rachel Amber" was incredibly underwhelming and not great, while Ashley Burch didn't reprise her role as Chloe. It sucks. For me, LiS DE is mostly very disappointing in its finale, but anyway.

I found this game interesting and fun! I know there's a large crowd disappointed about Chloe being written out of the game. Yeah, it really sucks how they did that, but it makes sense. Max and Chloe were trauma bonded, which isn't healthy. Though I don't agree with * HOW * they wrote her out of the story, it does make sense that they wouldn't last romantically. They aged up and grew in different directions. It makes sense. I just wish they could remain friends, because they do make an awesome duo that way! I'd also appreciate if the last chapter was wrapped up differently. The ending was poorly written. However, I REALLY enjoyed majority of this game! It's super interesting and I recommend giving the base game a go if you like a timeline mystery game!

I was completely fine with the game not including chloe. I felt that a lot of people didn't even want to give this game a chance. I did and the first 3 episodes were good to great but then everything seemed rushed and didn't feel fleshed out. There were so many plotholes and also it was sad that the chapters were always cut off instantly without the music even fading out or the old montages with your consequences. This game had so much potential but it did get wasted. And honestly i don't want no sequel. I would maybe give a vomic adaption which isn't canon a chance but max' story os over and there is nothing that needs to be told. Also the diary was so bland. The colours looked pale and there wasnt so much stuff going on. There were far too little locations. I wisched we could have explored even more of caledon. I hope D9 learns from their mistakes and makes a good life os strange game and i also hope that they don't make a blockbuster out of this franchise

You will always have the "Bring Chloe back" folks but the most complaints that so far hinder me from purchasing is that, besides Max, every new character is either annoying, unimportant or both. The overall subpar writing quality and the lackluster ending is in a bigger focus, in my opinion, than the "Bring Chloe back" folks. And this would be a much worse problem for me. And this also comes from a Chloe fan.

The "fans" of Life is Strange really can be so incredibly toxic. Double Exposure was the best of these games since the original and actually a really good sequel in its own right. A beautiful exploration of regret and trauma and choosing not to be defined by those things.
