Eric B & Rakim’s “The Ghetto” is the greatest track of all times in my opinion. Never ever heard a verse that could come near The God Emcee’s second verse on that joint…Second Nas’ “The World is Yours” remix, Third Common’s “Resurrection” Extra P remix ..

@@100timessquare exactly. It’s actually a blow to black music history. Now we’re canceling out another one of our greatest assets. This is not a victory at all. It’s an F’d up situation about an F’d up individual that gave us so much in terms of his contribution to the black side of pop culture. So while I’m glad he got exposed, this ain’t something worth celebrating.

So because you don't know what he saying in his raps means he don't know what he saying? That's a special form of propaganda Mike. If you do the knowledge the info is there for you. Do you ask Ghost or Lupe to explain everything they're kicking in their songs?
@TheRealLeonardWashington

🎯🎯🎯🎯 Lupe has made TONS of songs and albums without further explanation. When has Lupe done a lyrical breakdown of Mural? As a matter of fact let’s take it a step further. When have people demanded him to?

I think the main issue I had with Kanye and the statements he made in the past is the fact that he didn’t utilize his artform to elaborate further on what he meant by those comments. That Ye album would’ve been a great avenue for him to expound upon what he exactly meant by slavery being a choice. Instead he just left it for his fans to defend without any further explanation. It’s a broad statement to say the least regardless how I interpreted it. I didn’t take it the way Leroy and others took it but either way, it being taken out of context is on Ye himself As for Jay. My issue with his statement about us being passed kneeling wasn’t the statement itself. It was more so the fact that he never came with an alternative approach. If you’re going to dead kneeling in the same fashion as what he did on death of auto tune, you better have an alternative. My issue with DOA was the same. Ok you’re saying death of auto tune. We need a classic album to support this and he never gave us one after releasing the song Just my thoughts

The statement itself "slavery was a choice" is an attack against black people. That's one. With Jay Z even if he offered an alternative we would shoot it down to spite him. Jay came in the game saying independence was the way to go. Partnership is cool but OWN your brand. 99% of artists didn't listen so if Jay said lets all get up right now and not go to any football games for the next year black folks would leave him on his own. Instead he secured a position where now every Superbowl halftime you probably gonna see a black artist with some kinda messaging that's against racism.
@TheRealLeonardWashington
@TheRealLeonardWashington 6 ай бұрын
@@leroygreen6310 the statement in itself is not an attack against black people if it has context. During that same TMZ video Kanye touched on MENTAL slavery and that was the context I originally took it in. If he was talking about mental slavery and not chattel slavery then he’s 100% right, the problem with me being able to use that as a defense for Ye is the fact that he himself didn’t clarify that that’s what he meant. As for Jay, your defense for him not coming with that alternative is similar to the defense people use for Obama not doing anything for black folks. “If he would’ve proposed something the republicans would’ve shut it down “. Where as in my mind, the actual act of proposing something would’ve shown his mindset as a black man and his love for his people. And all that symbolic energy in halftime shows does is feed into the fake woke theories that people give to these artists. In the words of Nas, “it’s trendy to be the conscience emcee but next year who knows what we’ll see”. It’s safe to have that symbolism. But it means nothing in the grand scheme of things. You think the maintainers of white supremacy in this country give af about symbolism? The answer is no because it doesn’t collapse the system of white supremacy

Kanye was running for office at the time so to make conservative laugh at us he used our history in this country. Now as a result I actually have to convince black people that slavery wasn't a choice because they have lost all since of history, warfare and basic common sense off a statement from Kanye smh.

Kendrick do be all over the place but as far as the curses, the Israelites of the Bible are the chosen people, the curses he speaks of are because we did not follow God’s commandments. Those curses are listed in Deuteronomy 28:15-68 and identify who the real Jews are. He said he’s an Israelite, don’t call him black because black is not a nationality, it’s a derogatory term that was given to us. Our God given name is Israel, hence being the term Israelite. Mad Max is absolutely right about who Esau is as well. It’s E-saw Mike lol.

Because of the wicked nature of how those scriptures were written and also because of what we see in documented historical accounts in terms of war, invasion and enslavement it's a very high chance that man wrote those scriptures to inspire fear in prisoners of war (slaves) after invasion.

The book reads like a spiritual 360 deal that we have signed with our belief where we suffer while others that profit off us are blessed with wealth, atomic bombs, and the ability to be even more wicked than the people being cursed.

@@leroygreen6310 thats a pretty good breakdown in not so many words yea, the others profiting now are in their kingdom of heaven. But this is not THE kingdom of heaven, that is restored to us once 144k are sealed, and that is paradise. This world is not true paradise for anyone because wars exist, work exists, sorrows exist wickedness exists. None of that exists in our kingdom, we get immortality and dirt made of gold dust, rocks and pebbles made of precious stones etc…and they won’t be there, thats only for us.

@@Follow.the.Leader Two things. I think our people should study what happens to people that are conquered in war? What happens to their religious texts? That's one and 2nd I do not believe God writes a thousand page spiritual contracts for people that were born thousands of years after the events described are supposed to consider. God would not need a book to do anything at all. God would not have this much trouble sending a message to people.

You can say the same thing about Nas. He made himself a hybrid of those that came before him. Are we saying Nas is a style biter too? If we’re going to use this logic for Kendrick, it’s a slippery slope because the same can be said about a lot of cats who came in the game after the 80s. Nas did I gave you power before Pac did Me and my girlfriend. No ideas original under the sun
