Hi Rich . I've invented something that allows me to play the guitar and the accordion at the same time . I named it the guitordion hybrid . You can see my videos on youtube . I want to be able to do the bass sound of the accordion when I pull the bellow and the chord sound when I push the bellow . It was working when I've put tapes on half of the reeds . But I would like to build some kind of switch so that I can change it by pressing a button . Do you have an idea instead of putting tape on the reeds ?

Hi Rich! Really enjoying my accordion and practicing an hour or more each day. I've bumped into a funny thing on the treble keyboard and would like ask you about it. I have one key, happens to be an A, and it "creaks" when depressed. If it is pressed slightly to the left (laying it down like a piano) it goes away but toward Bb it has a bit of resistance. I'm able to pass paper card stock on either side with ease and it doesn't bind on either Ab or Bb with the paper inserted. Could this have something to do with the return spring located under the rod the key is attached to? It's not a major issue, but would love to hear your ideas on this.

Hi Mark That's a tricky one ! I think a creak could come from where the key pivots - but to get to this could need a fair amount of deconstruction - if it's not too annoying I would probably leave it be.!

@@richedwards9646 If I understand correctly, the axle pin has to be removed in order to access under the keys?

@@markjones7063 that often is the case Some accordions don't have a rod and each key has its own mechanism Taking the rod out can be a really tricky task !!!😁

@@richedwards9646 Thanks, Rich 🙂 Mine has an axle rod, so I started watching videos on labeling keys, removing the axle and reassembly. I think I'll pass on this for now because as you mentioned, it's pretty involved. If for some reason I change my mind, I'll definitely upload a video of it.

@@richedwards9646 Hi again, Rich. I am also experiencing something else which is curious I have two adjacent low pitched bassoon reeds (located on the same bank but opposite sides) which if played chromatically... the lower reed doesn't want to immediately go silent when the key is lifted. It won't do it when it's played singly, or if a full step interval is played but chromatically upward, it hangs in there for a moment. It's almost like it wants to steal the show from it's neighbor 😂What might be the cause of that?
