So which one is your preferred income stream? Annuity - team Katherine or Account-based Pension - team Shaun?

Hi Guys, Could you put a few examples in you next video. It would be great to see the impact of either or a mix of both and how much age pension you can receive based upon a few asset levels. Cheers

good idea, we might try to do those examples via different new videos and topics.

This is an awesome video and it was great to see Shaun again, he did very well in this one. For me, I'm aiming for 800K in Ann and 600K in ABP. I love the security of owning my home and this allows me to invest. The same will apply for retirement. So for me, you both win. 155 liked

When I last checked annuities are not attractive. A 65 year old buying a $1M annuity received about $41k p.a. indexed for the rest of their life. However after 18 years (83) that capital was retained by the provider (a provider with the same name as a space shuttle that had a disastrous end in the mid 1980's). It's not difficult to preserve the $1M and earn $41k pa even adjusting for inflation.

Do they return prorated capital before 18 years?

You read my mind! I'm nearing retirement and am trying to figure out the best mix. Maybe there is a scenario calculator out there that also can also help with age pension eligibility? Thank you for the informative videos.

HI Anthony, calculator is not easy for that purpose, but organise a meeting with either of us, and we can make those calculations for Age Pension

Great video at a time I really need this information. I have all of my super transferred into an ABP however i am about to receive an inheritance. Im considering placing this into an Annuity. Is this possible to have both?
@AboutRetirementTV10 күн бұрын
Yes, it is possible, however to benefit the most as to how to split money between those income streams, feel free to organise a meeting with one of us - extra security and check up based on your personal situation and your personal financial income level you would like to be receiving during the whole retirement

Superannuation was designed to be spent by the person who earned it over their life, seems like the allocated pension is the way to do that.
@AboutRetirementTV10 күн бұрын
Actually they both are, with added bonus of income security for life from annuity
@pauls845610 күн бұрын
@ mmmm seems you either have to have a huge balance or be accepting of a low income with annuities compared to just spending it in a reasonable fashion over time with a pension.

Perhaps an each way bet, or as the Taco ad say's "Hey, why not both?
@AboutRetirementTV10 күн бұрын
They really do complement each other as retirement income streams, so I agree, why not both!

Good morning, Katherine I have enjoyed your presentations but I have to say that the dual presentation from my point of view is not that easy to listen to. stick to presenting on your own....

Thank you Brian, we will try to mix those videos, as it adds to verity, but I understand what you are saying - thank you.
